Hi everybody -- -- -- apple and this is spots -- -- As our next guest puts it you can -- scared or be prepared.

He's -- courtly a former navy -- he's here to -- -- some tips on surviving disasters from his book.

-- survival guide hi Kate -- hard hit thanks for government say -- book covers everything from what to do your attack by a dog you're stuck in an elevator perhaps in the event of a home invasion -- to -- why did you decide to write this book and and who is -- four.

More I basically I took all the experiences and all the training I had in special operations.

And then I kind of molded it so it can be used for the common man I mean everybody can get some of this book you don't have to be a former navy seal.

And sort of the reason behind writing this was.

Spent enough my time in war zones and seeing sort of the worst.

And this is kind of -- -- for me to give back what's the rule of three.

Rule of three if you find yourself.

And they really hazardous order or you know -- situation.

You need to simplify things so you can make a decision to do it and all it says it could think of three options.

Go ahead to the pros and cons and then just go with -- -- instead of freezing up for being overwhelmed -- just three options.

You're gonna go how would you say -- being your best advice for survival.

You know my absolute best advice for survival Holm is basically I want you to become situationally aware know what's going on around you because if you know what's going on around it.

You might build -- void the situation altogether yet you walking around you walk in a crowd you understand it -- what's where.

Who's where.

-- -- -- get out of this place in case something absolutely that's that you're knowing where your who's around you especially in a public place.

Like a mall or an airport if you're facing a dangerous situation is it better to be that he row or -- -- you.

Get out of harm's way look at that's gonna depend on the situation if you're shopping -- you start hearing gunfire get down and get out of there.

But if you're in a situation where somebody is -- in front view and you've got a family with you.

I mean.

I think you know you're gonna do there are you gonna do you need to do to protect your loved ones it's really it's going to be based on the situation but if you decide -- you're gonna go ahead and you're going to attack.

Do with every -- your body missiles would call it violence of action you need a 110%.

Straight into that thing that I think of your families and in harm's way you do pull in all of your senses.

An act but what's really good point there's a part of the book -- talked about if you're in the -- which -- you do need to flip that switch.

You need to create that did that image in your mind was the most important thing in your world and a colleague your trigger.

And then when you're in that situation where this is my only option.

You pull that trigger and then you go 110%.

And -- situation -- thank you so much for joining adventures on -- -- it.

Good to see what -- let you know for more survivalist scenarios check out Kate's book seal survival guide a Navy SEALs secret to surviving any disaster.

That's it for -- extra I -- level thanks so much for watching.
