Now professional scuba instructor -- Eros was guiding a -- -- night dive off the coast of Hawaii's big island.

When a bottle nosed dolphin approach -- looking for help.

The dolphin was tangled in a fishing line and had a tough time swimming freely.

Keller worked for several minutes cutting the line and try to remove the hook from the -- of the dolphin.

And the dolphin patiently let him do it.

In fact the dolphin even went up to the surface for air and then went back so Keller could finish the job.

Joining me now on Skype from Hawaii master diver Keller Lara us.

Keller this is just an amazing story.

What did you think when the dolphins got this close to you.

-- startled I heard the dolphins squeak really loud you know they can -- the sound.

And when I turned -- used literally three feet from me which pretty much startled me.

In front of a dozen entries swimming around but I wasn't prepared -- -- right behind me so I was startled at first.

Did you know the dolphins needed help and he was that obvious as to why he was coming to -- Well initially no the dolphins will -- me -- cook slowly -- In swim around the big circle -- were all the diverse and sort through watching the mantra rays.

-- and it seemed dolphins -- during the died before our eyes and obviously we're not what was -- was said there was only one dolphin -- only when they show.

-- the very socialists -- usually there's two or three or four dolphins.

When it's live Miami the second time noticeably better fishing line wrapped around -- left pectoral -- Leading up to -- smelter in trail of downed by the side not -- -- don't loser who's who's in trouble.

Keller talk about what the problem would be a need for a fishing line.

To be on the dolphin what dangers that presents of the -- Fishing line educate our very tight -- and if they get -- they can actually because pretty bad injuries but she admits array is.

I'll lose stint in wings from the -- getting wrapped around just getting tighter and tighter.

And I knew that it was bad romance raised.

I suspected it would be much worse for adult -- -- -- you lose.

You're pectoral fin I really suspect I would destroy or whether or Hydro dynamics.

In addition be very painful.

I really didn't think the dolphins -- I that if he lost that.

Petrol -- if we didn't get the fishing line -- I was pretty sure he would lose -- ten.

It Keller and his song like your first dive deeply in I don't even know if you blogs how many hours you've been under -- But have you ever had anything like this happen ever.

This -- instructor since 1985.

And I've logged over 101000 dives.

And I've never -- a adult and approached me.

Needing help -- remove fishing hooks and fishing lines from many mentoring isn't given a couple of turtles.

But for the dolphins come right out there who is really -- first.

Now the dolphin actually surfaced for air at one point and contained back to you.

I find that just remarkable but he knew that not only -- -- get a hair but he knew right where to come back that you're gonna finish the job.

-- Along -- don't live there are clearly because -- needed help I think with -- -- and got entangled in the line.

I realize right away that it was -- -- -- but being a smarter animal -- adult and knew it needed help and didn't work -- because we -- at that location 365 days -- -- there's always people error.

And so the dolphin.

Problem here on the solution the only thing that don't when needed.

Was somebody to help -- and I'm just glad I was at the right place at the right time and I was able to do the right thing.

Tell our dolphins normally this trusting of human beings or was it just because of that the -- the dolphin was in.

That it was willing to I mean literally put its -- in your hands.

I I I don't think they're necessarily trusting big wild animals you know they -- to -- usually try to shot putter a little -- I don't dolphins come out.

And inserting instigate play like behavior you know the grab -- sea cucumbers and hit it to the other don't burn and then drop that -- don't look at you.

It seems like sometimes -- playing and maybe even interacting humans.

Which is pretty amazing for a wild animal to -- interacting with humans.

Buying this -- and shame.

You know not because it wanted to play not because it was just -- -- and we happen to be there this -- initiated contact with humans because it needed help.

We'll tell -- -- remarkable story and I can't tell you much we appreciate your sharing it and reminding us of just how Smart animals really are thank you Keller so much for being here.

Welcome governor thank you probably.

Well it's like I said earlier.

Even when I was sharing with you about -- -- personal story.

Don't ever underestimate the intelligence of the animals it's the humans sometimes we have to worry about.
