An American -- a mother to disappears in Turkey.
New York City woman traveled alone to Istanbul on January 7 -- she supposed to come home last week and January 22.
But she never boarded her plane.
And tonight police and relatives are frantically searching for her.

Well they thought that she was going to get on the plane last Tuesday Greta the last time -- -- communication with family members was Monday the day before.
Her husband could not find -- on the flight she was he was told that she did not take up playing.
It was a really tragic story because.
Here's a 33 year old mother of two young boys nine years old and eleven years old an avid photographer this was her passion.
And she finally got a chance.
To go on her first overseas trip she was supposed to go with a friend.
But that -- was unavailable at the last moment and her her husband who I spoke with yesterday -- their apartment was fighting back tears telling me that.
You know I was worried about her going on this trip.
But when you love someone that much you want to support them and help them to fulfill their dream and he was fighting back tears last night he and her brother.
I got on the plane they went to Turkey there there in the country today working with the local officials and trying to find her as best they could.
Did you plan to travel anyplace else it was -- from New York to Istanbul.
-- it was from Newark to Istanbul but there were also.
There are reports from a friend of hers that she did take some side excursions while she was in Turkey that she went to.
Munich and that she also went to Amsterdam and that she was in contact with a tour -- who was there that's -- some of people closest to are saying.
I -- that's a real weird.
Geographical.
Trip a -- -- Istanbul you're not an awesome take a day trip to those two spots -- is -- something peculiar about that if indeed that's true.
We'll read a there's a lot of there's a lot of questions about this because she was born and raised in the Staten Island section of New York City.
She had really never left -- she had never gone overseas so this is not somebody who was a seasoned traveler but it was someone that wanted to travel -- wanted to explore the world.
And take photographs and is stumble which is -- a spectacularly beautiful city.

And they say that they are working closely with the Turk -- officials and the Turkish police even looking at surveillance video for whatever is available there to try get more information on this.

Why didn't you go on the trip any particular reason and then why would she go alone.
At the last minute I just I couldn't afford the chip -- I am.
Have a family of my own so it was a typical me to come up with the funds.

Country she really loves it.
Architecture was she was fascinated with it -- she wanted to get the most if she could and that was all part of it.

She's also very street Smart so.

The one good thing you know if it's a good thing here.

Has a very very good police department they've been a lot of them have already been trained with our FBI.
So there -- -- taking this extremely seriously being elevated to the highest levels and I've spoken.

Both in our government and abroad that have elevated this to the highest -- so -- I think it's as serious as they can.
And you're doing everything possible both governments are doing everything they possibly can I'm very comfortable saying that.
