Christian monks now teaming up with a modern craft were ready to -- story sixteenth century monastery.

Good morning -- it might seem unlikely a small monastery in northern California.

Keeping up with a brewery to raise money but in fact monks have been making craft Beers for centuries.

And this unique collaboration is helping to preserve a piece of monastic history.

The rebirth of this gothic chapter house.

Built from the same stones that supported the orders original twelfth century monastery in -- -- -- Spain and you can see the different colored and damaged stone of the medieval era father Paul marked -- spent decades working to rebuild the monastery here and add to which rich history.

In 1930 William Randolph Hearst acquired the main buildings from Spain that his plans to rebuild the monastery in California never materialized.

And the crates containing the disassembled stones languished in San Francisco for decades.

Eventually the monks in -- and undertook the restoration themselves.

With the help of Sierra Nevada brewery in nearby Chico.

Together they developed over -- -- -- brewed in the Trappist monk tradition.

The over mile line is helping Sierra Nevada branch out while some of the proceeds have helped funded this architectural marvel.

A reunion for the pillars that witnessed this same order of monks centuries ago.

The having hopes to raise another two million dollars to complete the restoration of built what will be just the third medieval building in all of North America.
