The president's plan saying about that Cali.

On -- intensifying as you can imagine the debate on both sides of the house rolls on both sides of this issue of gun control.

But supporters to your point -- there are basically saying that they need to get behind the president and that congress also needs to do the same thing.

Going so far to say that they've got to do something that they believe will cut down on gun violence as we know it in America.

For example retired astronaut retired navy captain mark Kelly sat with his wife former congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

As she delivered a dramatic testimony during congressional hearing.

Point gun control recently she was shot two years ago on an assassination attempt by a deranged man.

Mark Kelly believe steps could have been taken to prevent the shooter Jared Loughner from getting that gun in the first place.

Common sense tells me.

That -- it is much more difficult.

For criminals and the mentally ill to get assault weapons and high capacity magazines and guns in general that we will save lives.

And mark Kelly also believes that congress should pass a gun control law that would include universal background checks and as we've heard.

From NRA's Wayne Lapierre that is something that they are not four in fact NRA as kosovars -- say that it's not a supporter of any restrictions at all.

Whatsoever on guns Martha.

What we know that the president Kelly's gonna run into some headwinds even with Democrats in congress on this issue.

What is his plan to try to get zero.

What they were seeing that planned start taking shape today with his trip to Minneapolis the president will likely continue these campaign style stops.

At various cities that have been plagued the gun control Minneapolis being one of -- -- already taken action.

Of course to deal with this gun control problems as gun violence in that city.

But the president will continue to push for this he won not to try to introduce any legislation herself he wants congress to do that he wants congress -- -- to the table.

And go ahead and offer some of its plants and he has some -- the president would like to see congress act or enact a ban on assault weapons high capacity magazines and a universal background check.

-- -- majority leader Harry Reid however says.

That's that he's thinking about.

The endorsing the background checks but.

He's not too keen on the idea of an assault on.

The ban on assault weapons there we know that he's suggested that that -- -- -- so well with his constituents.
