And it had its interest -- -- that there is a common thread here and that is mental illness and a lot of these horrific.

She said you know people need to be more responsible.

In their own homes to lock up their guns if there's somebody.

In the home that has mental health issues what do you think of that.

Robbing her he went there to shoot her so mental health has an absolute.

To be dealt with when you're talking about access to firearms and also for their own well beat -- don't act out another way.

Do you think that those people who have mental health issues and -- you know treatment and therapy and so forth.

Should be put on -- no violence absolutely.

I think that that is not the minimum we can do to make sure that only those people who had.

-- the clear mental health can can have access to weapons but again it would have stopped the shootings that we've seen because the people had.

Legal weapons and they let others have access to it.

Well that's why this has to be a comprehensive set of solutions there are the holes that need to be fixed when it comes reporting on mental health issues.

They aren't then blue and -- -- holes when it comes to background checks with private cells that need to be fixed.

There is a whole set of issues in dealing with the gun culture and I do think.

-- progressive liberal friends have to understand that we we have to address the violence in movies and video games and they want to run away from it.

But this begin house to be comprehensive.

And each one of these things isn't going to necessarily have stopped one of these mass shooting it's it's now looking forward to the future.

We don't know what the next person who is thinking about doing it.

What those dynamics are and if we can close all of those holes hopefully will save.

I think Hollywood has a responsibility.

For gun violence in America certainly.

The shows that we're seeing on television.

Has an impact I believe that I'm a victim of gun violence I was almost kidnapped when I was eighteen years shoot out at our house.

That hasn't changed my opinion on access to guns he should for those people should legally have them but on the other hand I believe it.

You should have a registration.

Perhaps even a cooling off period.

You should have.

A check of mental health and -- -- and in no gone -- list for those.

We're mentally ill.

But that guns don't kill people people kill people and we have to get to the root cause people who act out in mass shootings again these aren't.

Criminal minds these -- Mentally disturbed people.

I had no idea you'd experienced firsthand Brad.

You know acts of violence involving guns and -- that certainly adds a whole dimension for a great many people.

In America who are victimized.

Yes absolutely I mean I my mother and IE when I was eighteen we -- -- gunman at our house attempted to take maybe a shootout with police.

You know I came as close to anybody could come.

But I wasn't killed I wasn't.

Hurt by body.

The gunfire but the experience.

Did not change my attitude towards the Second Amendment but we need.

-- safe reasonable and equitable rules on gun control here in America for sure -- let me read a few more chats.

Or actions around this is where -- the American people are gonna have to find that consensus and really push on all sides Democrats and Republicans you.

His voters there are very pro gun rights.

The air you know this stuff kind of turns them off thing here is the leader of the Democratic Party United States and it.

Hussein I mean I bring missing up for a vote and if I do bring up for a vote I mean -- vote for certain business it was well.

All extremely disappointing here and say those words and speaking of him as a leader it will take leadership.

To be able to say I understand my constituency feels a certain way but this is what is in the best interest of society and I mean this is not resulted in another right left is she's there's so much hypocrisy here Craig.

When it comes to the left.

Women and girls who organize around empowering women they always point to Hollywood and they say.

If we can't see it we can't be it if we don't have positive images of young women and and old in and successful women on television and in movies.

We're not going to see that progress how can -- then turn around and say.

Violence in movies has no impact -- I think there's a lot of hypocrisy on the left and we're gonna have to challenge.

Harry Reid I think Gabby Giffords and her husband mark Kelly could do some work here because she was one of those elected officials to.

Took money from the NRA wasn't going to -- on -- now she's you know come around but she should be speaking insane I had that same spot and I changed my mind.

-- her husband is a very powerful advocate.

Let me bounce another -- -- -- -- Brad because I think it's appointee gets lost.

And in -- and maybe to some extent the media is to blame for this.

That you know the 24 hour news cycle and these sort of the constant repetition.

Place and nothing happens 99%.

Of the time.

What happened in -- it was horrible terrible but it is the exception.

Not the rule you know that's actually and so what I had -- -- daughters.

After sandy hook because.

They were concerned.

And and taxable here and most schools in America.

The vast majority of them.

And maybe it's 99.9.

Percent are perfectly safe.

And we we kind of forget.

That don't regret.

Absolutely and that's that's one of the reasons why.

Government should not be so reactionary.

Government should should take its time be thoughtful.

I thought it was terrible that Barbara Barbara Boxer from California rushed out of bill.

This needs to be done in a thoughtful.

Reasonable.

Way and it's not rushing a bill that's not the solution to this problem this is a multi facet problem it's it's -- help.

It's it's reasonable control and what you need to do is do the work that congress is supposed to do hold hearings here from experts and it's not necessarily result.

That we'll get you the intended consequence.

It's its -- this is putting time into Washington we actually crisis instead of preventing crisis that's the problem up -- Washington yet.
