It is that time of year again and if you're hungry you're in -- I -- is here to help you out.

It is the national pancake day celebration it's been happening since 2006.

And I -- is raised.

Roughly ten million dollars to support charities.

Various communities and joining us now to talk about this year's event David -- executive chef at I hop.

Gentlemen thanks for being -- Craig let me start with you -- tell us about -- national pancake day.

Well national pancake day which is tomorrow February 5.

From 7 o'clock to ten at 10 PM.

After seeing -- hops we will be giving away.

One short stack of pancakes to every guest.

In the hopes that they will use the opportunity to make a donation to the children's miracle network hospital and other local charities.

And -- if you're doing it as you said we raise more than ten million dollars so far we're looking to raise another three million.

Three million that your goal for -- tomorrow's event.

We're hoping to beat it.

David that's a lot of pancakes.

I would imagine and in your the guys in charger obviously -- and took all the pancakes and -- bit -- here in charge right.

-- we plan on probably serving -- close to four million pancakes tomorrow for lucky enough people come out to support children's miracle network.

-- -- such a great rate clause in.

In -- -- and I adopters went just down the street from where I live in New York.

And you know what I like it best about I hop -- and I've been gone since I was a kid back in the sixties.

And of course favorite of the kids is strawberry.

But it's right there on the table -- for -- to come out and join.

How did this get started in and which charities do you work with Bob -- that have been helped so much by your efforts.

Well it started small we did a test program about seven years ago and it was so successful we realized that we could do this on a national level and really really help people all across America.

-- -- -- neat things about this is that the money that's raised in the community stays in the local community goes to the local children's miracle network hospital.

We also work in some areas with the shrine errors and the leukemia and lymphoma is societies that they're all great causes and we really hope people come out -- stack -- And be generous they've been generous in the past the world they'll do so again David how busy -- get it I hops on on a daylight back.

Well there's quite a bit of -- flown in and out of the restaurant up on our teams are out there ready they step up so that we can get Sheehan and out and serve you hot pink cakes and and not a -- on your way.

Traditionally it's our busiest day -- we're prepared.

It does I think we're in the hospitality business and only go a little bit further with supporting not children's miracle network like this that that helps even more makes -- feel better.

They -- strong morale builder all across yeah I would our servers love doing it.

Our our Kooks love doing it they really feel like they're making contributions -- everybody looks forward to this day actually will now.
