-- -- -- First black president of and his fellow Democrats talk about given everybody an equal shot of the American dream.

-- we Ali wanna keep black people dependent on the government joining me now -- radio talk show host and author of the book dear father dear son.

Welcome back Larry Elder Larry's -- they had yeah.

We're -- The policies of the Democratic Party good for African Americans the policy the Democratic Party governor are not good for Americans of any race.

I had done -- smiley and Cornel West and my show they were doing a poverty tour.

And I informed them that under Ronald Reagan despite the fact that have a -- we called him a racist.

Black adult unemployment fell faster than white adult unemployment.

Hispanic.

I don't unemployment fell faster than white unemployment -- Tina unemployment fell faster than white teen unemployment.

And both of them said that I was wrong.

Attempts promised to give me the numbers in in his office on Monday that was by a year ago governor and still waiting on when Obama took over -- are -- -- was around twelve and a half percent right now just a little bit under 14% he is not working.

Emanuel Cleaver of the Congressional Black Caucus said.

At 14% unemployment if there were a white person in office -- marching on the White House being jealous of the NAACP recently said on Meet the Press.

Blacks have are faring worse under President Obama he was -- critical of Obama he's just describing the numbers.

The fact of the matter is my dad -- -- in the -- -- your farm that your son governor which you read and think you've -- I never got a job from port person.

You take money from rich people.

And you're gonna have problems.

What Ronald Reagan did was to lower taxes he slow down the rate of government spending and continued deregulation had begun under his predecessor Obama has done the opposite we've gotten the opposite results what what you just said makes perfect sense and -- the numbers back it up.

But that's not a very popular message when you go out and talk about it.

Even within the African American community is it it it is not however governor I I dare say that of that 95% monolithic black vote.

I if you told black people four years from now.

In the fourth year economic recovery fifty -- the presidency presidency would be looking at 14% unemployment which is really much lower because of the number people who have just abandon it.

I dare say that a substantial number those people wouldn't -- voted for him because.

With blacks Hispanics everybody else the number one reason was economy.

If he's not delivering.

Are endless talk about the -- policies that are hurting.

Black Americans what are some of the policies that you feel had.

Kept people from being able to move -- when this is a bigger discussion that when I was in college we read a book by Daniel Patrick mourning and called the negro family the case for national action governor.

At the time it's 25% of blacks.

We're born outside of wedlock that number now -- triple 75% of blacks are now born outside of whitlock.

The number for whites now -- 35% back in 1965 with less than 10%.

We've done is rewarded people for making -- decisions we've given women financial incentives.

We've allowed the men to abandon their financial and moral responsibility to cost the cost six -- -- -- fathers.

Then.

So the the fact of single parenthood where you have kids growing up without the benefit of two parents.

Supported largely by taxpayers -- government programs.

And I don't know too many people that want.

You know make it so the kids don't have food and health -- is the fact that they have to get it from the government that seems to be the real problem that's right when I talked to black groups governor are trying to do you sources that they can -- for Italy like The Heritage Foundation which has done a lot of studies on.

Absent fathers and the direct connection between that and dropping out of high school and crime.

And getting on welfare.

Charles -- did a wonderful book called losing ground probably our most important to -- -- last fifty years on the damage done to the nuclear family by the welfare state.

I quote people like that well known neo con -- -- court.

Who we -- a documentary said white people like hearing me say stuff like this but I know for a fact -- -- have a father in my life.

-- we've had some confidence that would have more disciplined.

-- him fully with one of the few so called black leaders governor that -- come on my show.

In twenty years and I've been able to get Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or with Sarah Connor any of those guards but Corzine -- -- -- -- -- the NAACP Kmart.

-- -- -- -- -- That's between the presence of white racism or the absence of black -- which poses a bigger threat to the black community.

And his credit without missing a beat he said the absence of black -- that's pretty powerful what should the Republicans do to better communicate.

That the policies -- the Republicans would actually empower African Americans more than the policies that they.

Currently support whenever a Republican advises me on what how they can -- to -- to black people I was -- them real simple talk to them like they're adults like to talk to anybody -- say what I just now -- don't talk about how he knew somebody who is a gardener who got more should -- with the king and therefore I'm feeling your -- which is what Republicans often do very condescending out with the best of intentions but it's condescending it's perceived that way.

Talk the way I just now did it's not working.

It's just not working nice guys are great smile great family.

And and the fact they got elected in the case that America is officially color blind due to elect somebody if they feel -- got a message that resonates with them.

It's not working.

Well you had a message that is resonating.

With a lot of people white black Hispanic and I hope you continue to use that wonderful voice you have Larry Elder trick daddy here thanks governor --
