-- safe environment for all.

Or that the suspect feels like he has the story.

This all unfolded nearly a week ago in Midland city Alabama rural town in the south not far from the border with Florida.

The gunman reportedly stormed a school bus shot and killed the school bus driver and it took this child from the bus.

Investigators say the boy has since asked for a red hot week that's for -- hot wheels car.

And cheese and crackers.

-- -- law enforcement delivered those items along with the medication that the child needs through a pipe that extends down into that bunker.

Jonathan series life force middle in Alabama this afternoon Jonathan any signs of progress ship.

Well authorities keep telling us that there are engaged with the suspect around the clock today they say most of their communications though.

Are occurring during the day but they say they can't go into.

Some of the questions and speculation.

That have been circulating out in the community listen.

A lot of tell me a lot of things that being said you know and I told us that you know we're do -- -- week.

Humanly possible candidate to resolve this site -- you know prime minister out.

And of course the sheriff says that the suspect continues to allow authorities to deliver comfort items such as food and medicine.

And toys to that little -- so the lines of communication.

At the very least are still open shot.

Five year old boy in an area that small for this length of time is is an impossible situation what do we know about how he's doing.

Well obviously we can't see the boy the sheriff wouldn't say whether authorities are able to hear the boy in the underground bunker -- however.

When asked the sheriff said that he feels the boy is still hanging in there.

Meanwhile a former police officer is organizing a FaceBook event to collect -- -- cards for the hostages upcoming sixth birthday listen to.

-- We're expecting.

As of now probably.

A couple thousand cards and it -- guard.

Can't come soon enough Jonathan -- thanks so much we'll get back to him is what Vince -- first though Chris -- -- now.

Christopher's retired 24 year veteran of the FBI -- with the lead international kidnapping negotiator.

He's currently the managing director -- -- security which is a risk management firm that works with corporations Chris thank you.

-- my pleasure I felt like when we really see that sheriff this afternoon it didn't take a genius to realize he was saying things that a particular way.

To fulfill a promise or begin the process of fulfilling a promise with the.

Suspect.

Well the -- did a great job I mean he's clearly in charge of the situation down there.

And he's taking keys and choose from -- subject matter experts city that he's gotten he's listening to them so.

Then a process of slowly resolving this and and just exactly like he said they want to.

Make mr.

-- feel like he can safely tell a story and and that he could safely come out he has the story.

That's important to him clearly -- -- city of things is he's quite anti government in almost always.

And now I guess you need to help him feel like he's getting his story out maybe in hopes of getting that child out.

I had and that's exactly -- I mean it even though that what he did when he came on the bus seemed very offensive in nature.

Everything that he's done down there has been to protect himself has been very defense of the nature.

Sosa if they can help -- -- -- that he can get out of there safely.

On the -- he can be a little less guarded.

There's a really good chance -- -- resolve this peacefully I was and a doctor have -- earlier as I was coming in on series XM and he said some things that made a lot of sense he said that this man has gone against some of his own.

-- his own beliefs for instance when he killed the dog for coming across the street.

These are things that you might be able to point out with him and him to have him realize that he's not doing what he says should be done.

That's it that's a good point and and that's why -- -- in many cases conversation takes so long because people's actions always don't line up at their words and if you have to point that out to -- you've got to do it and really gentle fashion if you world's don't feel like they're being attacked you know we haven't seen or heard from any of this child's family members.

I'm guessing that's a calculated decision and is that a case by case basis or or how do you make that decision.

Dad says it's a very scary time for the families they don't really know what to do or who deterrent to.

And it's another indication of local law enforcement down -- during a really good job and supporting them.

The fact that they haven't felt like that they were so long supported that they had to go directly to the media themselves so it looks like they've done a great job looks like the mom talked to the New York Times however briefly and and told the times she was on -- last nerve in what mom wouldn't wouldn't be.

You -- -- about those people.

Right and you know on what happens in these cases a lot of times as a family suffer post traumatic stress as much as the victims -- -- -- really or fine -- this really is.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- My pleasure trip thanks for her borrow.
