Well it's -- it's so wildly different world now you know many years ago with your teacher you you know stood up -- you -- reading and writing arithmetic that was your job.
And we're dealing with a much much different.
Situation with society now where many kids are coming to school.
Not having what we -- the home training that they need you know disciplined time management.
You know values character that sort of thing and so.
And schools really serve a different purpose -- -- many blanks hit it babysitting services that -- how I would just say that that along with the academics.
I think that that that teachers are required to a lot more -- -- they are.
Serving multiple -- so I.
Think that's a fair statement I don't blame all teachers are some great teachers absolutely what I do fail is institutionalize.
Failure in other words we're not the -- -- What these kids are capable that's true we don't want to test them we don't want teachers to look.
Bad right what do we do that -- Well I think you're absolutely right in saying that it's it's a problem with the bureaucracy I I think that there are plenty of educators out there who are innovative -- wanna do the right things.
We also believe -- -- first that that you know all kids can learn when they're put in the the right school environments really rigorous.
School the problem is that they're forced to operate in this bureaucracy that's driven by these antiquated rules and policies that make absolutely no sense defense.
Education is an interest in derivative and Latin to bring forth from within.
-- -- it's predicated on a belief that it's already there so if it's not coming out then whose failed coup.
Well I you know I think that what what we've got to focus on and -- as educators is what what can happen with enough.
The confines of the school day in the school year and what we know is that.
All of -- in school factors that exists the quality of teacher who's in front of kids every single day.
Matters the most and so you can take a child -- living in poverty.
Who is coming to school every day with tremendous challenges and when you put that kid in front of a highly effective teacher they can literally change their electric.
After what is the biggest an obstacle to that.
Teachers unions a day.
They protect for example why the mysterious reluctance and resistance towards vouchers or all girls public schools -- one in Harlem and to the city New York got sued by the New York Civil Liberties Union why the reluctance.
Well I think it goes back to sort of the bureaucracy mean if you if you look at the point of teachers -- the purpose of the teachers unions is to.
-- -- the rights and privileges and pay of their members.
They're doing a fantastic job of that -- -- you're -- -- but you can't begrudge them that the problem is not that they exist the problem is that we as as the rest of society we have not made it a priority to put pressure on our public officials to make sure that they're prioritizing the interest of kids and that's exactly why I started students first.

Well her her I think I think it depends on how you look at that I think that what we want to indoctrinate kids -- in schools is the idea that.
