Just quit on -- -- much fun as quick as these are they're not as quick as the -- you're gonna get to be driving.
This year in the global rally -- series to me about this machinery got over here.
All this I mean this is kind of taking the small car performance to the nth degree this is -- -- that at all.
Who knew -- column fiesta the Goliath but.
On this is almost 600 horsepower all wheel drives here it at sixty miles an hour and one point nine seconds.
It's also two liter engine eco boost that makes a lot of boost.
And so.
But we do get an amazing amount of horsepower out of those two leaders.
Of course it's a race car so it you know it has all the all the safety -- in carbon fiber in everything you'd expect from a racer.
But it showcases I think the capability and the fun factor that you it's possible with with -- small part because they're small they're nimble.
There there hyperactive.
This is a ridiculously.
Scary thing to -- frankly because it changes direction so fast and that's it makes it fun for -- Route across little off wrote a little tarmac lots of tight turns and jumps in there as well and you could cut it.
You can basically pick whatever car you want to competed in this it does seem to be the car that a lot of people -- for.
I've I've been lucky that I've gotten to race.
A variety of different disciplines also in a variety of different cars and I chased down 42009.
Let me use one of these rally some markets for a moment the -- YouTube video racing in Sweden in one of these.
Got one of those the next games and just dominated and it's just.
Just it suited for type of driving where you're on gravel your -- catching air this thing goes does 98 but jumps.
And is ridiculously fast on the tarmac.
And so that's.
It it it's really something that I've it's a sport that is.
Incredibly high -- hyperactive experiences I've seen before.
But we have so much power and such and nimble kind of package it's it in the and you have six other very angry guys and helmets with roll cages next here and battling it out.
It turns into a pretty exciting race -- world order real people who don't think that that is relatively -- -- rose to obviously the controls little bit different than the stock -- he deals with some of that so -- themselves.
-- -- you know we have.
Of course under the seat back as far as possible to get that the center of gravity.
Further back but this this lever here is actually -- yet.
And this is -- hand break -- that rear tires on the helps you around some of the tighter turns other than that we have some controls for launch control infer.
Any -- and and -- different little tricks of the trade to make the car go fast.
-- but it's pretty straightforward.
Lots of power being tapped out of a two liter engine goes all four wheels all mechanical model -- controlled the wheels -- or anything like that.
And you just hang on ago.
You you said thinking -- order world speed record in a car.
Not very different from this you've also got a world record for longest jump ramp to ramp -- -- four -- vehicle.
And a lot of that you practice four to plan for it you're prepared for that what is the -- it -- something where you actually were scared and got.
Almost every day.
Now there is it gonna get a lead for hot wheels that was 66 but that was pretty scary to cars in the same now when you couldn't practice -- much because.
You -- start with a small little -- -- bigger inning.
The jump that Indian truck that was 330.
-- -- -- Big big stunt.
And you know the wind and everything there are a lot of variables and an -- you can do in racing is give yourself the best possible chance to win.
Give yourself.
You know safety so when it inevitably goes wrong sometimes her everybody.
I give you get a lifted trying to today and and then go hard and never think about that -- stuff while here on the track.
Along with the racing and all that -- course are also one of the hosts of top gear and history of the season started couple weeks ago you guys have destroyed quite a few cars already in the first two episodes.
What kind of mayhem can we maybe expected in the coming weeks.
Top -- so we.
Yeah we're in the third season now a top -- and we just finished filming the lash out.
And we were in Iceland.
And analysts side and it colder than Chicago is like a little bit -- like ninety mile an hour winds and negative eight degrees in just incredible glaciers and everything.
I believe so that's that'll be I think one of the later shows in the season but there's.
All kinds of things we've been doing over the last.
You know ten weeks of making these shows and and -- there on Tuesday nights at nine and history and they are.
Yeah its been twelve years old and it's kind of the same as this it's just about having on I think in cars that's a real great thing to be a part of that show because.
He -- if you get to just.
I do all the things you wanted to do in a car like drive through malls or jumps to how -- crashed -- that you wanted to do when your 1012 years old -- and for me I think driving is the most fun thing that I generally do.
And it's real lucky to be doing that for living.
But I really hope that through this kind of racing having X games connect cars with a lot of used the media and even interest in cars and shows like top here that are fun.
That it makes driving seem -- to the new generation drivers and so they pay attention to their driving and and learn to take it pretty seriously and and enjoy.
Their presence here to talk you have to look at the global rally -- season will be watching top gear on history and -- go.
