Fox News weather alert and this is the worst thing we've seen in -- -- A blizzard warning for parts of the northeast now in effect for areas in and around New York City Connecticut all the way up into New England including Boston and areas beyond.

Some areas could see two feet or more of snow.

The experts say this could be among the top ten snowstorms ever recorded in New England.

And that's saying quite a lot -- -- our chief meteorologist Rick -- you.

Weather forecast now Rick I'm seeing from your reports that the snow totals are going up in the times are changing is that right.

Yes going to start overnight tonight so when you wake up tomorrow morning pretty much everybody's already.

Going to be seeing the -- -- have to be very ready for it.

It's these two storms just -- getting much closer to where they were yesterday the main energy of this storm is back behind the rain and this is all headed off towards.

Kind of the north east is -- exit the -- -- And we're already seeing snow around Chicago and much of Michigan this is a good six to eight -- -- fall for a lot of these people that all combines.

And meet somewhere here off of -- can a mid Atlantic coast line.

Overnight and tomorrow and then we're gonna see blizzard conditions here from New York City all the way up through coastal man I gotta tell you I 95 court or -- -- -- tomorrow -- -- traveling tonight.

And by tomorrow morning you got to be where you gotta be because what's gonna be going downhill and tomorrow night into Saturday morning we'll look likely be looking at whiteout conditions so impossible to travel on the roads.

You know if you look at the local here in New York City and surrounding -- look at the local forecast you can find anywhere from three to thirty inches in the forecast crazy yet you know last night I said -- here on the show there -- probably going to be talking about three to six inches of snow.

Veteran New York City -- got to take a look and show you why we've been having a hard time.

And he can give a nor'easter -- to -- -- where that rain snow line is gonna set up.

And we really thought you see this -- here right over New York to go a few miles to the south it's -- a few miles to the north and -- -- I gotta say we're getting a little more confident that really spending more time in the snow here for New York City.

And that means an increased snowfall total.

Unfortunately for folks in New York we've always known this is going to be about a two foot snowstorm at least.

Around the Boston area but New York City this kind of the bull's -- here that we weren't quite sure but take a look here -- right now this model showing 34 inches I think that's probably a little bit high.

But we're going to be certainly -- that two foot range.

And -- leadership we've got about fifty miles spread here go to -- Tony two inches go down to ocean township Jersey eight inches New York City twelve inches that's what the models -- and right now.

Little more snow here -- little more cold air and those numbers go up dramatically the moisture is there whether it's rain or snow is the big debate here right -- New York City.

Our our Boston station I was watching Rick they have this scale that they use locally to talk about how bad the storm is gonna beat goes on -- scale of one to ten they've never use the ten.

-- -- -- -- -- certainly a blizzard warning in New York City -- as I can't remember when that happened certainly it has but.

It's been a very very long time I want to point out all of the beaches that were impacted by hurricane sandy and all those places that people are still homeless in such.

We're going to be talking about a storm surge with this normally reserved storm surges for tropical systems but this kind of a stronger to -- -- storm surge maybe three to four feet.

On top of the tides and we're gonna see some more coastal erosion that's -- case -- and here and it will be really significant -- probably gonna see some twenty foot waves crashing.

I hear around Boston Harbor in -- around Cape Cod and the islands he got snow.

Winds maybe 75 miles an hour.

In addition to this -- so -- maybe five to eight feet high as well 76 is hurricane says seventy -- hurricane over at Morgan yet.

And we're likely going to be -- that we hurricane force wind watches in effect all along the coast here block -- right people keep will be seeing you early and off Andrea thank you.
