All right another major story -- following for you tens of millions of Americans bracing for what could be.

A record breaking blizzard forecasters are warning that up to three feet.

Of snow now could fall on parts of the northeast shutting down roads rails and of course airports some twice 600 flights have already been canceled.

And that will cause problems at airports across the country this is not just in East Coast problem.

As the snow begins to fall folks are racing to stock up on supplies fearing they could be without power for days.

The only take a -- losing power and it gets quite windy here.

Then -- carelessly.

I'm Frankie now I'm off I'm from -- and the leases must now.

I think it's going to be alive again it's pretty dangerous all wheel of an hour right now.

We're concerned along the coast of high tidal surges.

Particularly Saturday mornings when it is going to be a tough surge.

Meteorologist Janice Dean -- live in the fox weather center what are the latest models showing Jana yeah we're gonna see -- some serious storm surge in some areas along the coast areas that suffered greatly from hurricane -- I think a lot of people are really nervous because.

Of that storm that we got in October -- -- husband was waiting in line for gas last night so certainly people are concerned and yes this is going to be right now.

A historic storm if we get storm totals over three feet so let's look at what's happening right now we have a clipper system across the north.

And a storm that originated across the Gulf Coast a lot of moisture here so the storm -- snow that's -- ball is going to be back breaking wet snow not.

Fluffy stuff this is going to be very dangerous especially with people who have.

Heart conditions you don't want to be out there shoveling -- you want to make sure someone is out there for you this could be a really problematic.

Thing especially areas that are gonna see one to two feet even three feet so here's what we're looking at the next hour so mainly a rain event -- -- New York City but we've got that rain snow line so that actually might cut back a little bit of snow totals here in New York but we still aren't expecting.

Close to a foot or more in new York city north and west of the city that's -- we're getting the snow.

Ongoing snow for twelve to even eighteen hours with relentless winds this is eight and very very powerful storm overnight tonight.

So throughout the day today things are gonna start to deteriorate the worst conditions overnight tonight.

Into tomorrow we are going to cede power outages all along the East Coast most certainly with winds 304050.

Miles per hour in some cases.

Hurricane force winds we have hurricane.

Force wind advisories all along the coast as you can see the snow continues to pound New England.

In some areas around Boston Allison.

Over three feet we think which will be historic for them.

Back to you on putting on -- Parker right now you know what in the good good side of this is -- happening on the weekend and all the kids are going.

There are excited schools are closing in Connecticut's.

Jeff thank you want people to be say absolutely so thanks that they we'll check back in.
