Well -- is every high school athletes dream and athletic scholarship to a major university.

That dream came true for Florida football star Alex Collins.

But he might have one more obstacle to face this.

More obstinate than any defensive lineman.

He and his father have signed a letter of intent for him to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks but his mother.

Well mom is doing everything she can't keep her baby boy closer to home first she hid the letter of intent.

Now she has hired the Cochran law firm that's Johnnie Cochran's former firm of in hopes of invalidating the document.

Is that fair is it legal let's bring in our legal panel Arthur -- -- former defense attorney and former prosecutor.

Fred TC also with -- also a former prosecutor gentlemen what do you think about this -- and his mother first was so that if if she wants him to go.

To a school closer to home she wants him to stay in Florida he wants to play for Arkansas so the first thing she did it grabbed his letter of intent.

And ran off where -- Now she's suing because his father signed the letter of intent.

He's cleared to go to Arkansas's -- father is concerned the mom says no who wins.

-- very intimidating good Freddy you sit it is not in his head back -- put out I'm scared but I wanna see you work America.

And I'm Wayne Ellington it's it's a mother and a jury and personal.

Who's gonna pull them mama want -- -- stay at home number two.

They're in Florida it's not like there are a couple of all of them.

College football teams in Florida.

Here's the bottom line and what the law -- you know good gonna attack to try to validate this.

The NCAA has very specific very stringent.

Rules regarding recruiting.

The Euro millions of dollars at stake in this kid is up five star.

Athlete coming to the Arkansas program is going to give them Arkansas a lot of money.

They are gonna examined and cross examined to make sure there are no deals under the table to make sure.

There was no type of pressure undue pressure would -- put on this young man he's a minor.

And give these parents are not married so -- what's going to be -- that is what are the rules in the state of Florida regarding.

Guardians of it up a bit of a minor and who has control.

All we're making his final decision well Fred give us your jurors prudent -- Thought pricing at night I knew it I know it I know it she shouldn't -- called Johnny Cochran she should call Arthur I doubt that the club is number damn I originally about a month.

Except that she's got a much better chance for the Arthur.

You know why John I was gonna make a joke about -- She says she wants in the state of Florida but I think you know I can joke about how she found out that only was gonna get -- all she was gonna get.

Was a transient with you what the market focused like -- -- -- -- -- if she wanted the -- that the Florida fans of Miami parents get.

But you know what here's what bothers me about this thing.

What a terrible terrible -- -- telling young man he signs a contract a mince words this is bond his father signed it.

She doesn't like -- -- what does she do she goes out and hires a lawyer starts raising all kinds of technicalities what a terrible terrible life lesson he made a deal he -- -- go to Arkansas.

It was illegal out of intent signed by one guardian I have owners say the father didn't have the right to do that -- at the end of the day -- watch.

That contract stance.

Aren't what aren't very.

You said that you know there are a lot of great schools in four out of for instance and and he should be happy to make his mom happy and later.

For one of the Florida schools but you know how this is it's a niche business maybe you like the coach at Arkansas right maybe you like.

The prospects you know you you're looking at the other players who might -- your role maybe you like.

-- better well according to the lawyer.

Then not necessarily saying he can never go to Arkansas they just want to look at what -- the process.

To entice him there so you're right John if it was the coach.

That's five it -- the other players that was going to be as quarterback.

That's fine it is because of the -- them that Fred mentioned that should not play -- audit elevates him because his dad.

Put us feel a lot of pressured the rest because.

But really this is big business and anything is possible I'm not accusing anyone of anything quite big envelope to -- under the table.

Are not unheard of in any recruiting and morrow so what do you do make sure everything's done above board.

That that that's when you make a great point but -- -- Look you and I both know that within that we'll all -- students there's a thousand little technical infractions that she's going to be able to dig up.

-- she can say that this is because it's all very -- while.

If she wanted first on -- the end of the day she's raised a little bit harder they'll look for a lot of technicalities they truck because she wanted to you don't you will originally -- by the rule.

-- rules I mean you can't really get.

I don't bomb Clinton make sure admittedly let Reynolds I you know Arthur didn't play by the rules what it took particular target those opposed to Miami the guys who want the Penn State can put that aside for a minute.

OK so it didn't work and Miami the guys in Miami we're gonna play by the same -- couple.

I'll tell you -- enough that the fire I didn't have any kind of athletic ability coming out of high school but my mom would have been happy to send me out of state and just follow the lottery away I don't know leave that I don't know I had no -- -- -- Jeffrey young man like -- -- Okay vertical jump over a wet newspaper you're talking about right I -- -- -- all of there.

Fred DC have a great weekend -- stormed -- Okay -- goes thank you both.
