The state of the union locals -- -- latest -- -- That is the subject of our daily -- fast today with cal Thomas the great Cal Thomas joining us from DC emerging from his -- -- into daylight like the vampire he is hello Al.

Well hello Jonathan and you have to look at what what it's -- go off a I have mentioned vampires yeah I think -- commander of the day you may want to check your history on that but go ahead -- I just -- -- very brave battle.

I've been hearing at.

Bob and so anyway moving on the -- live what do you make -- what -- think we're gonna see in terms of the media coverage of the state of the union tomorrow.

Well first of all I think most of the interest and quite rightly is going to be on Marco Rubio and to a lesser extent Rand Paul.

Who is doing this for some unexplained reason the Tea Party response.

Two the president's remarks.

I think there's nothing new we're gonna hear from President Obama.

He is pretty much has stuck in his ways.

We gotta have fairness and balance him.

In our taxation meaning.

More revenue for government you mentioned vampires are now.

Giving more blood Dracula doesn't making him stop looking at your neck he just wants more.

And I think the analogy is quite properly here in Washington including the media.

Despite all of the evidence that bigger and more expensive government is not producing the advertised results.

The media continue to buy into this fiction that the government can do it all for you this is why like jobs fossils so much.

In his books and on this on this network.

Because he constantly says names something the government really does well they're getting to deliver the mail on Saturday after August 1 come on so -- You'd like to see.

You know that the big print newspapers for instance and do that have the space and the time to do would you like them that sort of break down the entire speech.

Proposal by proposal and looking into.

The fact -- history the future I'll be each of those cal I mean what do what would you what would make you happy because I always well thank you appetite yet thank you.

Look I think what what they ought to do but won't do because most of them.

Are right in line with the president's philosophy is to take a look at all of those things that he is done that he -- promised that he said he was going to achieve.

And ask themselves has he done it and if he hasn't done it which in my judgment in most cases if not all cases he is not.

Then be open to other ways of doing things the taxing and spending.

216 trillion dollars in debt.

To the highest tax rates we've had in years clearly isn't working so -- it's not working the media ought to be saying.

Well it's not working let's try something else I think that's reasonable.

All right cal Thomas Fox News contributor from -- DC bureau thank you so please go back to your bunker -- that some -- get a -- -- -- -- thank you cal great to see -- -- obviously is one of those brilliant minds who appears.
