That is the impact segment -- -- Obama expected to give a rather partisans say the union address tomorrow as we mentioned.

Standing by his big spending big government approach so far.

The left has held firm and -- supported mr.

Obama but will that change especially now with the -- situation heating up.

Joining us from downtown Manhattan doctor Marc Lamont Hill who teaches at Columbia University with a stroke thing.

I just steal it and as an issue that the left -- that wanna deal with at all my wrong.

I think one deal with it and I don't know anyone left who's supportive of drones I think the problem is we've convinced ourselves that Obama is drones are somehow softer and kinder and gentler than Bush's drones is that true.

Had a much warmer and -- no I mean I mean the truth is we simply refused to hold President Obama accountable for Jones the same way that we would have.

Under the bush administration and even and it's always that we did under the Bush Administration obviously.

Drone technology ramp up over the last four or five years back an old real forward first -- -- the left was upset about -- -- it on bush the moment Obama comes into office suddenly it's not as much of a priority just a case -- basically is saying then that your crew is hypocritical on the issue.

I'm saying -- is -- -- contradiction here I think all part of all parties have these types of contradictions.

But right now the left is absolutely not holding Obama and is that because they feel the greater good is served by having the president.

Do the other things that please the left is out why.

I think that's the argument they give whenever I talk about draws even during the presidential campaign of you know of the last year when I would hold Obama accountable for Jones for Afghanistan for proxy wars follows other stuff.

If we would be -- no no wait.

You know we gotta get him in office there's there's a bigger picture that we need to think about it so that that's what I thought it was not Columbia University that is part of -- -- the other part of it is I think people.

Have convinced themselves that Obama is much more reasonable and dovish on war issues that he actually is I don't think it's just glad I think -- people.

-- give -- themselves of anything I mean that's not my concern but when you have you know of this.

Outrage over waterboarding where no one died and only three people were -- -- All right and then you have nothing when all kinds of people -- die including an American citizen.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- What I just be -- says I think your being here tonight you guys are hypocrites on the issue and just say look the greater good -- is ignoring this and walking away from our.

-- -- belief system and because we like them are.

The guys in the bill -- just just one quick correction here you sort of -- you misrepresented.

Other torture regime under the Bush Administration is not does that redeem -- waterboarding or enhanced interrogation causing many deaths much by a successful -- and that's normally not an outpouring that's.

Really really ignited the laughs.

Dismay.

Now the state of the union TU.

Do you think the economy is in a good plot.

It's.

Just thought -- visited -- there we -- and also my love I love it over you know I mean.

The economy is not a good place but I think we're moving in the right direction I think Obama's challenge tomorrow night.

Is to convince the world that he has -- plan that the Republicans jump on board with without sounding too partisan if he sounds too partisan he loses so you want him to talk about it in an economic plan in his fourth year because he's had.

An economic plan I guess.

That as a really work very much more I disagree I think we've we've seen some city growth what we need is more growth as is brits and we need a a wider range of growth.

I agree with that and take an -- happy were movie quote the right direction are almost an -- Alison Laura what everybody -- more revenue of one of I think more revenue -- -- these guys are you telling me you wanna sees my house I mean we don't you come from.

If the -- you can't be happy about African Americans because there unemployment rate is gone -- and their take home pay is gunned down.

Under the president's so they're not moving in the right direction the African American.

Situation that's going in the wrong direction I I've never been happy with -- -- -- -- -- -- would result -- -- -- stay on the Obama economic plan that's not.

Helping African American I can't be happy about that you know not having but I hope we're not happy about it either but I I don't think you can even justified is going in the right direction is going in the wrong direction I think we're in agreement on that think it's it is there should be targeted job cut -- -- -- to target targeted.

Jobs bills I think we should be focusing on how we -- increased employment for African Americans how to create a stimulus plan of of sorts I think we need investment in key areas the president talked about that during his last State of the Union Address I hope to hear more about that the problem is.

Often does present Obama is unwilling or maybe even afraid to say.

Black people's name in public and -- that for me to be frustrated all right doctor thanks very much always adjusting -- me.
