-- your coverage here on fox in the State of the Union Address let's return now to correspondent Shannon Bream who has been following.

Are being polls to gauge viewers' reactions to the president's speech tonight -- what are you finding out.

We'll -- it's interesting we got twelve point nine million votes folks playing and we -- take -- through some of the hot topics tonight.

Immigration let's start there with a little bit about what the president said tonight is speech.

We know what needs to be done.

And as we speak bipartisan groups in both chambers for working diligently to draft -- bill and I applaud their efforts.

What was interesting here is we -- people who long -- and by party and by gender.

This was one area where nearly every one.

Republican independent and Democrat coalesce and it was the first time and really the only time that we -- Republicans and their approval about what the president was saying.

Actually spike above independents and Democrats but it was the one -- That everybody really seem to coalesce on now let's talk about where they didn't exactly lineup by party here's a bit on climate change from the president tonight.

Our missions of the dangerous carbon pollution that threatens our planet.

Have actually -- But for the sake of our children and our future.

We must do more to combat climate change.

But when the president talked about issues of climate change global warming an energy production there was -- enormous split by party.

Independents went with Republicans on this and they nearly bottomed out it was the lowest scoring factor that we could see for the president tonight -- his speech.

While Democrats seem to approve independents clearly flocked with that Republicans -- the lowest rating of the night for the president.

Clearly not coalescing on issues of climate change making it very top of the president probably to sell this particular issue.

The last thing we wanna look at here is gun rights it this was agony and the -- here's a bit of what the president -- on that topic tonight.

It has been there.

Two months since -- time.

I know this is not the first time this country is debated how to reduce gun violence.

But this time is different.

Again this was a place we saw a big split and again independence tracked with Republicans on as Democrats seem to approval what the president had to say.

Independents and Republicans again joining together bottoming out.

Not approving what the president had to say on tougher loss frat.

Shannon -- thank you will be tracking that throughout the night we'll head back.
