Check out our top story right now authorities are working to positively identify a body found in the rubble of a burnt out California cabin.

Looking to confirm the suspected cop killer Christopher corner is dead.

This is we hear from a man who says he came face to face to adorn her yesterday afternoon.

Rick helped to break runs a boy scout camp in big bear.

He was out patrolling the grounds in his truck when he says corner walked out of the woods late yesterday pointed a gun at him and ordered him out of his truck.

Take a listen as he described what happened next.

-- -- -- I don't want to urge you just get out and start walking up the road and figured out what he was calm I was calm and you know I I was -- I was here in my life but there was no panic.

He's -- what did you get it.

He was dressed in all camouflage and update their assault and sniper rifle out of yes on something like a ballistic -- he was stressed and just few do some -- it looked like.

Mark Herman is a former LAPD homicide detective and -- Fox News contributor.

And now we believe Chris garner is dead mark after all this carnage and all of this.

Media coverage and terror that people have been put through you have a different take on this guy you don't see him as some trained.

Yeah CIA type guy we needed this year to this extent -- think he was a bit of a bomb -- what do you mean.

Well -- -- you look at his career in LAPD you can certainly see that today he barely had enough but training on LAPD and experience -- rocked a police car by himself.

He had problems in the academy from day one and we we get to see any of them.

-- -- Or otherwise.

Describe the problems we have the academy and his he had an accidental discharge of a firearm and academy shot himself in the hand.

Had a two days suspension we look at the video -- Of -- and he looks kind of like a dork he doesn't feel comfortable with the weapons you can see it the way he handles himself.

And then they report his his military experience the unity was and is basically a mobile communications unit and the -- and I'm sure he had exposure to weapons training just like anybody in the military does bit.

When you look at his manifest so you'd swear you were up against -- double 07 Jason board ramble all.

Rolled into the and that isn't the case and the he wasn't -- highly trained LAPD officer he was a barely trained LAPD officer.

And -- we apologize to the audiences get a few audio hits -- marks.

Satellite feed but we can hear you okay are -- keep this going.

Why do you think the media created that narrative and sort of went with that rather than questioning this mean why do we do this -- so many cases we we sort of glamorize.

These killers.

When you it's much more and arresting and and the -- the way that they describe somebody.

Highly trained marksman he wasn't a highly trained marksman he had the basic training he didn't think it it it.

So our area he was he had difficulties the entire time he was on the job I think they do it for the entertainment quality the kind of sexy -- drama playing now real life and and I damaging is it really damages.

Officers.

Ability to do their job because this guy's watching -- actually beaten his ego.

Right through his manifesto.

He you are taking it hook line and sinker.

Looked like the partner manifests.

But he said surface to air shoulder held weapon that it could shoot down aircraft.

I mean there are are we serious we're not gonna question that's.

It's agency was that doctor Allan Lipton on criminal psychologist saying something silencing every day he eludes capture it increases his -- -- city.

And it be sitting there watching TV hearing news people talk about all these things -- he he can allegedly do an allegedly has training and maybe it did -- I I'm not blaming the media I'm just saying.

And we have a role to play -- and maybe it needs to be reexamine I mean in the wake of all these shootings we've seen.

I want to ask you what you think the effect is now on these Los Angeles Police officers who've been through so much many of whom -- targeted.

Specifically had their names listed in the manifesto as being his targets and have had 24 hour protective detail some of whom.

They still have it until they positively ID -- -- Well -- the underlying feeling that you always have a vulnerability.

Most these officers are out -- -- -- uniform everybody knows who they are and there are an easy target any time of the day.

But other families are are usually something -- hands off so that kinda hits home.

-- and when you when you look at this whole situation I don't want everybody to understand that Chris Horner came on the scene.

But there are hundreds of crisp corners that play out every day in Los Angeles and every big city in this country rosters -- engage.

And violent confrontations.

Shootings.

Tracking down violent murderous criminals and this is something they do.

And instead of opening up Chris donors complaints.

That he had.

And the manifesto.

You should maybe try to figure out just how he got hired on the department that's what your question should be not his pathetic manifesto.

And we will -- that Bill Bratton the former LAPD police chief when he joins us next hour.

Mark great getting your take thanks for being here.

Back.
