So -- some of those who support him say well the LAPD he's got this long history of of racism in particular against black officers and there was.

By someone named Connie Rice today talking about the sub culture that existed there -- the -- treatment systematic mistreatment of black officers.

Race it exempts you insist you started changing things in in the LAPD.

But did that exist and is that what could be behind some of this support for this man.

I think that's exactly what's happening that was the history of the Los Angeles police department it was gracious organization it was a brutal organization.

And have awful relations with the African American community.

Not all of its members majority of its members did not engage in activity but it was felt that the leadership tolerated and that's kind of an anything goes attitude and one of these -- pitch with the worst race riots in American history.

Over the last twenty years in twenty years is a pretty significant.

It is a minority majority department in which.

40% Latino.

15% African American city it's 111%.

He Asian representation.
