Senate Republicans temporarily blocking chuck eagles' Defense Secretary nomination yesterday Republicans they've got some issues -- hagel former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown.
Fox News contributor with me down senator great to have you and good morning to you.
-- -- -- why did you and your viewers out of Washington DC today what do you think about his take of the what happens here we'll listen voting on nominees judges in nominees is being presented as one of the most important jobs that a senator has if they have issues if any of the senators have issues -- questions that they want answered it's their right number one it's also the obligation of the nominee and the administration to provide that information in the fact that they have not had full disclosure yet there's still some -- unanswered questions.
I think it's within their right I predicted yesterday that he would not.
Move forward I ultimately feel he will.
But until the questions are answered -- the proper information is.
Be given to the senators and their inquiry it's it's not happen so you think this is temporary.
At least for the moment he goes through what next time it comes up at the end of the month.
Well listen if Harry Reid wanted to bring it up -- -- cancel the vacation and they could come in next week if he wanted.
They're really easy answers to immediately provide the information there's a history.
With the administration and the majority party not providing all of the information they'll provide a little bit here a little bit there -- -- You know hopefully you'll forget about it but bottom line is if they want to get this done they should sit down.
With the concerned citizen senators and actually provide the appropriate information that is -- -- what we've heard at least two of these speeches apparently were -- I think four maybe five years ago.
That were not provided -- what was it intentional for him.
Not to present these speeches because he thought it would be controversial.
Well -- I'm not sure are certainly but they are people are aware of them and they.
-- need to be part of the entire package that's being presented and the senators have an absolute right to get this information.
Senator Lindsey Graham.
Has been hot on this trial and his big issue.
Is not having the answers on what happened the night of September 11 in -- Gaza.
But is he justified on that position because at the moment I don't see him -- it he says he's gonna fight to the very -- gets everything answer.
Listen -- why not I think the American people deserve to know what happened when we lost some American citizens in that tragedy.
Absolutely I know Lindsay -- of them we served in Afghanistan together for a short period of time.
He's a wonderful guys very thoughtful thorough and he has every right to know what was going on.
And every facet of that operation because clearly there was a breakdown.
And we need to find out and wonder how the breakdown happened number -- how to prevent future -- so we don't have additional losses of life you know.
What what is interesting about that story is that every time you peel it away it seems to reveal more and more questions.
Now isn't -- what Democrats are arguing is that this whole.
Called hold up others are referred to it as a filibuster hasn't gone -- just yet but what that does it makes us would look weak overseas.
You know I disagree with that no absolutely not you have secretary Panetta he's in there is his job we also have -- advice they can certainly handle the operations.
When -- just one person runs -- runs everything in the United States of America we have people that are trained to do their jobs the fact that we have the ability to have a smooth transition.
With a -- temporary -- now and then it's like it our democracy's all about it's what the process that our founding fathers wanted us to have in place now I think it's working fine.
I think they have the right to ask those questions I would be asking the very same questions and still am asking the same questions.
There's also another she would John Brennan do you think he should be the next CIA director.
Well I think that's another issue and another.
Position that is.
You know everybody's a little bit Fuzzy on right now.
I think you need to have more questions being answered on his nomination as well it -- -- it appears the questions on Brandon.
Go directly to the US policy on drones.
And -- and we have we have Rand Paul on yesterday the senator from Kentucky.
He is he is adamant that he will not allow -- to go forward.
And let's see answers a simple question and that is whether or not it is US policy in US law to.
Use a drone over American skies.
And target Americans here at home Richard York.
Well bottom line is I think senator Paul has.
Every right to have his questions answered by you putting someone in a position in the CIA.
That obviously is going to be making decisions that affect every day Americans.
Not only here but abroad.
He has that right to have those questions answered we need to have a full disclosure from the administration as to what the policy is going to be.
Listen I don't have a problem.
When somebody leaves their citizenship at the door and their overseas and they have taken up arms against the United States of America.
And they clearly trying to hurt Americans not only here but abroad say to use drones I've been public on that are ready.
The question comes what about here in the United States -- what question he says the question is easy yes or no and so far it hasn't gotten an answer.
Well and he deserves an answer and so does does every other senator who's asking those tough questions they need to be answered the American people deserve full disclosure on all of these I'll musician or more quick question quick answer -- hagel Brendan if that's the way the team shapes up.
Are you happy with that team.
But I know Senator Kerry I think he's gonna do a fine job I said that publicly I've known for many many years.
I think out of all the candidates that he is certainly the best fatal listen I'm not sure if I would have voted for him there's still some unanswered questions.
Brennan.
You know the same thing well.
Senator thank you welcome to fox -- sky -- -- -- guys saying great to have you with us here to our --
