Well.

But Benedict decision to step down because of failing health has placed the Vatican in uncharted waters it has not seen in centuries.

None of us have seen in centuries.

How will this decision impact -- the Catholic church and the community.

Actually -- -- Harada is around corresponded with relevant radio network and she joins me now to talk about those very issues welcome -- Thinking I'm so glad to be with -- -- but this is it very.

Very very very strange kind of if you're -- you know where to start really but one of the questions that is out there is that does this mean.

That the Catholic Church we'll simply have to hope's one sitting in one sitting down.

-- the Vatican has told us that there's no danger of that this is not a situation that we're going to need to be worried about.

But they are studying exactly how this situation will be handled certainly.

It's unique it hasn't happened in the last 608 years so.

One thing we know is that Pope Benedict the sixteenth intends to retire to a quiet life.

He's going to live there on Vatican grounds in the monastery much replaced CAA.

He's going to go back to the things he loves to do.

Writings studying research.

-- even back to his -- he's a passion it's a classical pianist.

And so he intends to have more of a quiet life and also to really enjoy his last years in prayer.

And he says that although he'll be hidden from public view to always be close in prayer.

You know.

I -- to our viewers that we actually saw pictures of -- second not Pope Benedict the sixteenth on -- that was actually jump ball but.

I -- feeling from the Catholics and I'm not Catholic myself but I get a feeling a lot of the Catholics and I've talked to.

-- -- that I know that there are essentially a kind of wounded.

What is your impression would.

I think that especially after the announcement came there was such mixed reaction.

One initial reaction was that people fight could it be true is this some kind of -- -- has the Vatican website somehow been tapped into.

But as for the reality of the situation began to settle in I started seeing.

Sadness it's true -- people who felt.

That thing is how about saying goodbye to the holy father pop -- -- it -- who they've come to love over these last eight years.

There -- a sense of concern people wondering is he sick what's really going on here what is this going to mean for the Catholic Church.

But there was also a real sense of admiration.

People realizing that they have just seen that this man make of married difficult decision in front of the -- is of the whole world.

And why did he do it he did it because he knew it was the right thing to -- -- he was brave enough to do it there are folks who went out right away right after the announcement to Saint Peter's Square and were shouting things like.

Do you -- -- -- Benedict the long live Pope Benedict so there's definitely a sense of supports.

Well we -- seeing pictures.

-- -- the second and as many people know that he had Parkinson's disease and he was quite feelings towards the end.

And that was that top of him stepping down but his position was that.

This is about the dignity of guided in the human -- in the human spirit -- made in the image of god.

And that at any stage it still has -- -- that's why he didn't step down.

Why doesn't go -- -- say -- why is -- a different kind of read in the face for Pope Benedict.

Sure I think the Pope Benedict is expressing to the world that this is a different way to show his dignity.

It's -- -- -- situation.

When it any organization in the world where as CEO.

Comes to realize that he or she can no longer effectively -- -- the organization and so they should be allowed that opportunity to respectfully.

Step back with dignity.

-- Pope Benedict is doing just that he's an -- he's come to realize that his.

-- is fragile but on the other hand his character certainly isn't to make such.

A strong decision now well -- -- others affecting you know the community as well the larger community has the mystique.

Of the cab injure the terps are sort of weighing -- just the idea that the Pope is not infallible in terms of his sort of faith in a sense he is stepping down he's not going to stay until -- which is kind of how most Catholics look -- of Pope.

-- -- the mystique has the shine sort of did end on a Catholic Church because of this.

-- well certainly there was a lot of disbelief after the announcement came.

And people a lot of people -- -- economically this was possible but couldn't imagine.

That it would ever happened but I have the opportunity to speak to people living all over the world than one thing that I keep hearing time and time again.

Is that people feel that their respects for the Pope.

Has actually increased in fact two people who are a lot more favorably disposed towards him now one of the reasons.

I think is because they see him is human.

They've come to understand come to relate with him better on a human level and they understand that he's not god he's not exempt.

From the effects of aging that all of us have to deal with.

And IV through that are able to reach out to him in empathy and charity.

Let you know already -- -- shafts that are coming in here now.

This is -- isn't anyone listening yes we are listening.

How currently don't read into all the cabinet members leaving what we try to read into the pope's decision.

That's why is that and -- -- -- point says.

It's -- -- -- said this Pope has a lot of profits calling him the last -- up and I believe any of it it makes me wonder though if they pick someone who.

As a radical turn of the Catholic Church doesn't split again.

These are historic moments obviously but what is -- the first one basically you know why don't we address what we look at.

A cabinet members leaving -- we look at the Pope leaving.

-- Right exactly well.

Probably because traditionally this is an office that has been maintained until.

Death of the Pope so we just expected that that's what was going to happen here.

And plus we were talking about misty before I think there's that little bit of amnesty can that you can even imagine that the Pope.

Would a -- and not be capable of fulfilling his duties but I think what we see here is a man who understands and respects.

The chair of Peter that -- China ministry any also realizes that he has come a to a point in his life.

Where he's no longer able to fulfill that ministry and the best thing for him to do is to step back.

Are -- I thank you so much.

Actually warning -- idea with that relevant -- can check -- relevant radio network.

Relevant radio.

There it is the web site right there.

I want to thank you so much for coming on a course where it will be talking about this more because of course you've got him stepping down and we've got the conclave to.

Elect a new Pope so all of -- this a very exciting -- in the next few weeks thank you so much actually.

It's thank you -- in all the best.
