And welcome -- the special audience edition of Hannity and tonight for the entire hour I'll be joined by somebody who had the Internet buzzing following his remarks at last week's national prayer breakfast in Washington DC.

Doctor Benjamin Carson is one of the most accomplished physicians in the entire world.

But despite his many accolades which include being awarded the presidential medal of freedom in 2008.

He was an unknown quantity to many Americans that is until he stepped up to the podium last Thursday morning and with the president of the United States sitting just steps away.

Doctor Carson eloquently and politely described his vision for saving America.

Among the topics that he covered the perils of political correctness education the health care system and much more let's take a look at -- quick preview.

One last thing about political correctness.

Which I think is a horrible thing by the -- I'm very very.

Compassionate.

And I'm not ever out to offend anyone.

But.

PC is dangerous because.

You see this country when the founding principles was freedom of thought and freedom of expression.

And hit muscles people that puts a muzzle on them why they're so important that we educate -- people.

Because we don't wanna go -- the same -- As many other -- nations who have preceded them.

I think particularly about ancient -- Very powerful and nobody could even challenge them militarily.

What what happened to them.

He destroyed themselves from within.

Moral decay.

Fiscal it's your responsibility.

To destroy -- And if you don't think that can happen to America.

You get -- your books and you start reading.

-- but I'm much more of the -- speeches we continue tonight but not surprisingly whenever somebody has the courage to speak truth to power particularly when it involves the president.

Well he -- she quickly becomes a bit of political lightning rod.

And a familiar phenomenon happened in the aftermath of doctor Carson's comments with some comments describing his actions as quote disrespectful.

And tonight you'll have the opportunity to respond to those critics will also hear from the doctor on how we can turn around the economy restore credibility -- health care system.

Also Frank -- tonight we'll stop by with a focus group of voters who actually dialed doctor Carson speech and -- they thinking may have a shot sometime in the future the White House.

Well -- surprising answer lies ahead before we get into all of that it's time to meet the man himself.

Doctor Benjamin Carson it's an honor to have you welcome aboard thank you ultimately -- -- -- doctor you can you've gone viral.

There may be able.

Not not something you predicted in your life.

Usually in medicine we think of viruses is not a good thing but that's found -- This one turned out to be very good because I've been just overwhelmed by the the responses.

So many people are just overjoyed.

To hear some common sense.

And I don't think that I put forth anything that's that intellectually challenging it's just that it's so much better than most of what we're hearing from -- -- that it seems.

Like kid you know a great revelation.

And you know the important thing I think is is to begin dialogue.

You know some people say you know you can't say something like -- from the president.

Well when that this become a monarchy.

You know we are the people the president works for us.

And you know we -- to remember that now.

This -- a country that is for and by the people.

Not four of them by the government and that is the big battle that we are in right now we need to make a decision -- their eyes open which country do we want -- -- It's interesting because you made the comparison of ancient Rome and he said this could happen to America is that something you fear.

I definitely fear because we're in the mirror very much the same position that they were.

So powerful.

Pinnacle nation in the world.

No competition.

Going to be there forever so they thought.

And then all of the military expansionism started.

And capturing this group in this group of course that requires a lot of resource is when you capture people keep them under control.

And they quickly began to run out of money.

And then they're looking for any kind of scheme to get money from the people and their rich people they have a lot of money so -- come -- with some schemes to get the money.

And of course that erodes another aspect.

Of confidence.

And creativity within your society.

And they just continued right down the path of destruction and that could happen here it's in the process of -- The real question is are we Smart enough to stop it can we actually learn from those who have gone before us.

From a sweet and actually go -- the same path as all of those people who've perceive this and done the same thing let's hope not.

He actually used the phrase on my buddy -- who does show he says somebody's got to stand up to these bullies.

Define the bullies that you were talking about whether bullies I'm talking about it the PC police.

And you know they come in many shapes and -- Certainly a lot of them in your business.

The media -- who try to define.

What you're supposed to think.

And unfortunately.

I think it's the very things that are found -- we're talking about when they said is so important.

And our system of government is based upon -- well informed populace because if they're not well formed.

Very easy to manipulate.

And all you have to do is look at some of those.

In -- your background this is amazing to -- your background your mom was married at thirteen.

One of 24 children and and you are not a very good fewer troublemaker.

I was perhaps the worst student -- everything.

Now.

I thought it was stupid on my classmates it's stupid so there was general agreement that was in fifth grade that was in the fifth grade and you know.

Fortunately for me my mother believe them when no one else.

And she just said Benjamin much -- smartly bring hungry effective I brought him home anyway but she was always saying that and -- one day she just came home after -- it work and being inspired.

I'm looking at all the books that her employees -- -- decision is going to be books -- you can stop by two summits.

And that's human.

One -- people will be the constituent.

I -- and I.

But eight it was even deeper than that she had a third grade education herself and you made a comment in that speech that.

She would look over your report you gotta read a book report right he said we had to do -- we had to read two books -- peace and submit to her written book reports.

Which you couldn't read but we didn't know that she would put those check marks and highlights then we would think that she was me -- she wasn't.

But.

I hated it Selma because everybody else was outside playing and have a good time my brother and I was stuck in the house readings books.

But after -- -- actually begin to enjoy reading books.

Because even though we were desperately poor between the covers and those books I could go anywhere could be anybody can do anything and you can read about.

Amazing people I read about Booker T.

Washington.

Has -- of -- -- biography caught up from slavery.

He was.

A slave and it was illegal.

For slaves to -- And there that right there is a topic in and of itself.

Young people should be thinking about why was it illegal for -- me.

Because that slave owners and that if they could read.

They can liberate themselves.

And the same thing goes today.

Those young people who were not doing themselves of the educational opportunities are intentionally.

Enslaving themselves who they did Latin phrase for education at duke -- to bring forth from within.

If presupposes all these kids will born with that talent that's their gift that's you -- -- particulate count two in school.

Where you could push people's buttons that read a commencement address she gave in 2007.

I would study my classmates to figure out what made -- really really angry because you know they were always called me -- so that's the way I would get back at them I would.
