She's here today to tell us her story with her new book take me home from the Oscars thank you for via my check here you are very well known.

Television fashion reporter you and have read you know television show you people talking.

You have there you go into the Oscars you going to you know the Golden Globes you're in the red carpet.

Does that never have been to before he -- to go but anyway.

You started feeling pain especially if.

Right yeah New -- -- their pain in my feet doing a week of makeovers and I just.

I I thought it was just you know too much walking around in this city you know into -- doing getting on a fashion stuff.

And buy sneakers and and it went -- -- from the sides has had to get to a whole week of makeovers and nothing you know nothing helped -- -- -- got back to LA.

And at going to three doctors nobody -- -- me meanwhile is spending and to my -- and yet he always been very physically fit I I'm gonna try my day coming and it sometimes -- -- maybe that was said that I ever did some damage him telling him because.

-- and their -- to health and dad and finally ended up at UCLA.

And they diagnosed me with what with -- -- -- What what was your you know your idea of rheumatoid arthritis at the time.

My idea was watching the telethon -- years ago with my mother when people in wheelchairs and you're crippled.

And -- it's been my whole world by this is what I couldn't do I just got married to this man and we had this wonderful lifestyle and and I loved my work I loved what he did and I -- it's going to be taken away so I felt at the time.

Right around that I had to keep -- You kept it secret when he asked for twenty CO NT -- day.

Did I -- record I -- not at all I tell you something tell you look at canceled twenty years that you you going about your business you have the diagnosis you've seen the doctors.

You know -- never -- network never -- that they weren't tested never told anybody about what Mets you would take him.

On the good days and that bad days and women -- suffering from pain goes I'm sure he was suffering.

I was -- you know a lot of pain I was at and not just went through a lot of medications.

So what need do you come out.

What made -- come out.

-- -- -- -- Day I was studying daycare -- more about rheumatoid arthritis and I was starting to learn about it and I was one of the lucky ones I got into a research program.

And I got in the new biologics.

And that -- put me in -- and I had my joints and ammunition for fifteen years.

And I felt like it was time to get back it was time to make a difference because everybody that I would talk to would have the same statement that I -- cried over there.

About I -- -- and I wanted them to know that there's so much hope there's so much.

This out now than there was an Alex for our parents or grandparents are so much hope.

It's imminent in the research now and I want ice -- just felt that it was time that they give back.

What was the reason behind it were you afraid that people -- -- -- look at you in a different way was it had to do with their.

And got people -- an invite me to play tennis on Sundays or or is gonna come on my -- people but was it about it.

It was here I would lose my career -- because absolutely I thought it would lose it because when you're associated with the world of fashion beauty.

The will that's right -- doesn't fit in there and because people don't understand it's not that it shouldn't thin and its people don't understand.

And I I thought I would have lost my job and I think probably what up.

Now want to get to the book in particular it take me home from the Oscars.

Great inspirational book I read something inside the -- sets one of the people that is by the emotion of the most was Michael J.

Fox.

And businesses and bravado or did having a major chronic medical condition and he's still.

Now he's back on television again and Jay Leno race ends wrap up right -- -- and tell me a little bit about the -- what.

That is what is the story in the book that people should take away.

They should take a way that you never give -- hope including manner and -- give up hope you know I'm glad this is like a roller coaster you have good days and you had terrible days.

And you just have to keep on.

Moving forward and not about health and yet to reach out to other people on -- became associated with the -- -- foundation because.

They helped me to reach out to other people they reach -- -- other people there's a whole community out -- very active.

And social media and now because I can reach out to people and it can opt for help and opera for the children my comment about the children.

Sell I want I wanted to write the book because I wonder -- and now that yes I had this disease and yes I had it in and very very difficult way.

But there's help and look at me I am I I have my life.

I'm -- still hasn't issues I will always fascinating issues when she have a bad disease you always -- -- but you know what it's not going to define me.

I I am going to define myself how you manage in the condition today.

I didn't really go my Joseph -- and total remission.

What I learned -- -- really interesting I ended up in the hospital about six months ago when blood clots.

What I learned is once you have the disease you always have the disease even I don't and the pain in my joints.

And I learned that you have to talk to your rheumatologist -- -- Because it's associate it twice I ended up in the hospital because I didn't think I needed to -- -- -- charges what I -- was bronchitis or pneumonia and I didn't think I needed to.

You need to find a really good doctor that gets you I was lucky I found one that -- understood me and you need to tell -- racing even though you think.

This is an associate with my at my life it's an autoimmune disease and it is an absolute limit season and I learned that and I don't think a lot of people really -- that.

The book take me home from the Oscars inspirational with a lot of valuable information.

And has got a couple of folks out there thank you so much for coming he sound much like fled check -- do you have any health topic to a publicly about email me here at fox at dot com many of foxnews.com until next time -- document.
