Dozens of others were injured.

An open letter to the president one of those survivors -- and Todd writes this quote the evidence is very clear pertaining to the inadequacies.

It was during this time that I personally witnessed two fellow students murdered twelve of my classmates and one teacher.

And what happened to you on that day tell us about that.

The murders came in and that's when ten students and -- some other students were injured.

All that happened they came back around to whereas hiding under a desk.

And put guns to my head and ask why they shouldn't kill me.

And that's when I told my didn't get to them and everyone in the school they knew it.

After a few moments they.

Didn't decided to let you live in -- who left the library at that time and that's when.

When I got out.

I'm sure our -- is -- the same way I do listening to that story which is that our hearts -- just racing just.

Just just hearing about it we can even imagine going through that type of experience how.

How would you see that has changed your life.

It's changed my life in.

In a lot of ways -- Warren is you know I'm obviously more from the team to.

The political debates in the cultural problems and it's something that -- dedicated a large portion of my life since.

You know focus on some of these things in and try to.

Avoid these -- situations in the future with.

You know different things that I do.

Development and respect for life and motivating.

Students across the country.

So let's let's talk about this letter to president this is just one of the things that you mentioned that you've done.

Why did you write this letter and tell our viewers who may -- haven't -- it yet.

What do you think the key points -- really wanna get get out there and an -- the national conversation.

Well yeah I know I wrote the letters because I was getting interviewed by a friend of mine editor -- the blaze -- come.

Old friend we go back fourteen years he knew my situation and we've worked together before and asked me several different questions and one of them was if you got to talked President Obama what would you say don't.

And that was in an email so I start typing and that's how the letters came to be extended to him in any published it as an open letter for me.

And and the the key points that I wanted to commit a quarter.

Point by point.

-- the initiatives that the president and a lot in Washington and the lobbyists.

Are trying to pass our skin and be more of a detriment than -- help they're not protecting kids they're infringing on.

You know a law abiding citizens from protecting themselves.

And they're really.

They're taking away from what really needs to happen first we need to protect our children these kids and teachers.

Harder you know it's happened time and time again where.

A murders from that you know.

Student -- and somebody else goes into -- school.

-- they call gun free zones and these -- just target rich environment for.

For these people -- wanna murder unimpeded.

For a good amount of time before somebody stops them.

Noon and if I lose if I could -- their because -- actually.

Spoke too soon wanted that the president's cabinet members last week the secretary of education Arnie Duncan and he actually point to Columbine is an example because there was an armed guard at your main school.

As an example essentially that that having a gun won't stop gun violence and I'm curious and that one issue with your opinion on that.

One security officer with a gun and and that's not at all what I'm I'm saying I'm saying that.

Citizens teachers parents volunteers.

You know license to have CC -- view.

Carried concealed weapons permits should be allowed to carry on school properties.

They'll be.

More opportunities I don't -- -- put all my faith than one person because you know if you have more what you know law abiding citizens that are.

That can do that can protect themselves and others then the chances are greater that they'll stop a murderer for murdering.

And that's the one solution you see one the one solutions UC.
