Back at our top story this hour we are getting reports today that.
One of the main suspects in connection with the 9/11 consulate -- -- -- Ghazi is now in custody that's good news.
He's being held in in Egypt that's good news -- they -- -- lot.
No not so fast turns out the Egyptian authorities are fusing to give the United States investigators access to question him.
Remember four Americans were murdered in this attack in Libya last year including our own ambassador.
And we support each it would more than a billion -- -- -- each year.
Ambassador John Bolton is the former US ambassador to the united for the Fox News contributor.
You know a lot of people ask the question when we get these situations that it's supposed to be our friend why can't we just call up and say let us explain you how this is gonna work.
We're going to question the suspect.
Four Americans are dead so you just tell us what date we need to show up because that's the only outcome that is going to happen here you want -- billion dollars.
-- that is exactly what should happen and Egypt should have made this person available to us long ago we've known he's been in custody.
And it's -- it's solid piece of evidence that of our continuing difficulty with the Morsi government.
I do think though it's a mistake to say because of this particular outrageous behavior which is only one of several they've done in recent.
Weeks and months that we cut off fade the aid was.
Provoked they had begun to be provided after the Camp David accord of nineteen -- not it's a form of payment to Egypt.
For the Camp David accord as we've given aid to Israel over the same period.
So it it's something that that the American should be troubled by but not to cut the -- on the aid is for our own security in the security of our ally Israel.
Right that this is something this is a price of the Camp David accord is the price of Egyptian peace with Israel now one could say thirty years later -- -- -- been a termination date on this or something like -- in fact.
Think the answer that yes but at the situation we have now.
The military aid in particular.
Is the is the best leverage we have to keep the military on our side and to put pressure on the -- got.
I so forget the aid benefit if we don't want to make the aid to states for which were playing how would we go to -- suppose -- ally remember President Obama cast some doubt on that earlier last year.
But I suppose it ally and say what do you do -- this is this.
-- Americans would be bad enough but what about the US ambassador.
Who was murdered I mean assassinated.
And they've got a guy who apparently was running the training camps where the guys who committed the -- -- training.
Well what I would do based on this refusal let -- have access to this individual and other things that -- has done over the past several months is.
By anti Semitic remarks is attacks on Israel his domestic policies I would suspend aid.
To the Egyptian military I think that would achieve two objectives it would tell Morsi he's right at the end of his rope in terms of our patients.
And I would also tell the Egyptian military you've got to get this fell under control.
But I don't think we should cut off the -- and allow -- -- to say I'm abrogating the Camp David peace accord with Israel I was doing my -- the Americans broke it first that's what we wanna -- isn't -- some division between -- -- the -- -- absolutely -- and that -- exploited and I absolutely that that's that's the line -- playing -- were playing for influence inside the Egyptian government and you know we had given billions to the Egyptian military over the years and they should be more sympathetic to Arab point of view.
So that's why I think suspension threatening the possibility that this relationship is in jeopardy.
Should persuade the military to go to Morsi in the Muslim Brotherhood and say you can't continue this any longer truly gone on why aren't they giving us access.
Well I think that part of the problem is that this this story is this individual might tell go way beyond what happened in the tragedy of Ben Ghazi on 9/11.
And they may be worried about that as well there may be internal political difficulties within the Muslim Brotherhood.
Which is not a moderate organization which has spawned terrorism around the region this person may have contacts with the brotherhood they don't want revealed.
You know we've got we've just come up empty on and so many.
Five months later five months after the 9/11 attack we basically done nothing and that weakness.
Is a signal to other terrorists around the -- ways that you can kill an American ambassador.
And other official Americans and effectively get away with -- that's the worst possible signal to send.
None of the one guy who had been -- -- -- information about the attack in the near ten spanning sipping a strawberry crop -- cafe right and they shall find out if yeah -- -- and now he's -- ambassador thanks for being here thank you.
