Will succumb allied with greater fidelity in intensity than ever before expect the best franchises to be even -- that.

And expect powerful opportunities to connect and play and stay informed even -- away from the primary console.

This is the foundation of our next generation platform.

PlayStation fall.

Yes there it is that was Andrew House but the way he is the president of Sony entertainment announcing what everybody's been waiting for.

-- -- -- a store near you pretty soon and I'm sure so listen tot he is -- is here.

Todd is the senior editor of mobile and you know everything taken all the PS3.

To four fives I think -- a good deal with those are -- it out yet but they're coming but let's talk about before though Todd.

Good to see you first to -- -- we get into the nuts and bolts of what makes the PS four.

More dynamic.

How much is this -- gonna cost.

That's the thing that Sony didn't -- yesterday what we're going to be able to pay for and we saw some really powerful -- so you're gonna have.

Eight core processor inside usually say Quad Core but there's there's a different course aside -- a double -- if -- Then you've got eight gigs of ram and who knows how much space because it -- tell that yet but this is what would.

Cost 60800 dollars for -- PC if you were to build it yourself so.

I don't think we're going to be looking at 300 dollar price point and that's a little dangerous world because you -- that was it as we know what happened with PS3 it was two highest in about as fine.

What happened with the PS3'S it came out and what they tried to do was -- backward compatibility for PSU gamers they -- user of old games right that component was really expensive.

So they -- that entirely and then drop the prices yesterday and now the PS -- we know there's not going to be -- competitor there's no built in backwards compatible that ability price for there.

Right okay no backers compatibility you can't however download games or stream them.

And that'll include PS one PS2 in PS3 games -- -- and the cool thing that they're trying to say with this is that.

It's instantaneous so it's sort of like on Xbox-360 now I have to donut download a demo like the week maybe -- half -- play it.

This you can start playing right in stark reality and that's kind of does it -- that your connection is that.

Of course yet did the better your Internet connection is the pastor -- will start downloading by offering yours you know writing me.

But if you're gonna have this -- this PS four is gonna have the digital streaming capabilities how does that affect companies like GameStop.

Yeah that's the danger especially -- there were rumors that Sony was gonna stop.

The ability to use.

Or play a used game.

And that's what GameStop does to make its business you walk into the story treated your old titles and you get a used game -- you get a new game.

And that's that's their main business -- right.

So they didn't confirm that yesterday it sounds like you can still play used gains on the system.

But that just means used PS four games not use PS3 games because that would require that backwards compatibility.

So then all I have serious library at PS3 games that I have to have the PS four then it's -- -- -- in the cold.

-- via outlook -- -- -- a lot of cash yeah.

There's nothing that GameStop can do it -- they can't do anything about that now and so long term I think GameStop could be OK because people still want used PS four games eventually.

But at the get go they're gonna have to buy new games from GameStop or here's the problem.

As we move towards the web there's ecosystems all online so with the Xbox 36 -- to buy new games on line.

With PS forty can do the same thing as a matter of fact he'd go back and by -- -- -- so you might not go to GameStop to buy a PS2 game anymore.

Think that's a probably it is let's talk about this let's talk about the councils are.

These things gonna become relics.

You know it's hard to say I think they're becoming more of a product for the game the lead but Microsoft's doing it right and I know we're talking about Sony but we have to look at Microsoft because they have.

There windows eight platform they have Windows Mobile in both of them can interact with the Xbox-360.

So we have to assume that the next Xbox can have that kind of ecosystem and -- So he doesn't have that they don't have their own desktop operating system they don't have their own mobile operating system these android.

Just like every other competitor.

So basically Sony's going to be a little behind on that front thankfully though they will allow support with a veto which is there they're portable gaming system right so anybody kid.

Play games on that that they -- but I mean in as you said -- you know the that the councils -- for the -- it's also for families and their families like to have that thing in the family room the living room bit.

You know the media room wherever -- I agree and that's when it becomes sort of this media center and not so much gaming console.

So then it becomes well how much can they get on sales of streaming movies and stuff like that and the inside as opposed to games.

-- -- look at a company like Nintendo with the Wii users are sort of more targeted towards families so yeah so all of those if you've got Sony Microsoft and Nintendo France's.

They're all vying for that same.

Audience.

Then those all those consumers are gonna have to find a way to get those who want the councils to make those councils all encompassing.

That can fit sit in the -- in your family meeting -- exactly and it's not just about game -- say anymore these are entertainment boxes take.

They -- tables and let was maybe the worst social media experience here ahead.

I I was just seeing that so it.

I was stuck in Los Angeles because of the blizzard recently and I couldn't reach jetBlue and -- called their their line it was just like you don't call back later.

Souls like all right I'm gonna go to Twitter -- -- reach out to Jeff -- Twitter and they're like Oak Creek you know like just GM lost direct message just yet.

Your flight.

Information so first off that in followed -- like why can't contact you via direct message you don't follow me etiquette DM so that they start following me that I sent over my stuff and I just never heard back -- -- That's terrible yeah I am stranded I can't get through your phone lines there's no other way to contact you you give me this little bit of.

You know a nugget like I'm gonna make it home and then take it away -- OK jetBlue you heard that the best get on it gets hot meals and he's the senior editor of mobile and he knows everything about text that's.

Going to be a big picture that's hot -- -- is happy for Todd thank you.
