More than five years on fox report we've been reporting on the saga of Drew Peterson.
The former Illinois police sergeant who seem to keep losing his wives.
Will now we know he will likely die in prison.
A judge in Joliet Illinois today senate the 59 year old convicted murderer to 38 years for killing his third wife.
The math indicates he'll likely died there as you would call a jury last year convicted Drew Peterson for the 2004 death of -- -- audio.
Neighbors found her dead in a bone dry bathtub the defense claimed she drowned.
The jury realize you can't drown without water.
Of course Peterson's fourth wife Stacy is still missing he's a suspect in her disappearance way back in 2007.
And in 2008.
I asked Peterson about that here.
The neighbors said that they saw you carrying out big blue barrel that would be big and -- against -- now we agree that talk about you know I didn't I didn't really see any restrictions on conversation I would never do that.
I just I just wonder what OK well then that I guess I gotta walk away have a good day mr.
shepherd.
There's an historic community.
Yes -- we won't talk again today Peterson once again refused to leave quietly shouting I did not kill Kathleen at his sentencing.
To which Kathleen it's obvious sister responded.
Yes you did.
Steve Brown is outside the courthouse in Joliet Illinois tonight -- observers say they thought Peterson was choking back tears during a statement wasn't.
His attorneys say no our producer was watching says yes much of Peterson's rambling statement fell in the category up.
I was set up in his words the state took an accident and staged a homicide.
He railed about falsified police reports and a bully grand jury that indicted him and suggested that perhaps it was time it was in -- interest in getting a tattoo across -- back which said.
No good deed goes unpunished.
At the prospect of spending the rest of his life in jail he choked up a bit and then closed repeating I don't deserve this.
I don't deserve this shot.
He's appeared to be a pretty good performer over the years it seems that prosecutor was unimpressed with today's performance.
James Glasgow says usually little or nothing today he said a lot and he offered this assessment.
Peterson's performance his proclamation of innocence on the stand.
Feminist screech.
That he didn't kill Kathy.
That's the guy that killed Kathy you've got a glimpse into his soul.
And then that nonsense about her head on the table.
He couldn't -- cared less.
So we all got an opportunity to see a psychopath.
Reveal himself in open court we don't normally get that chance.
Glasgow said it was the most satisfying moment in his prosecution career he also says they will soon be taking a look at the Stacy Peterson case.
As well Jeff Steve Brown outside the courthouse in Joliet.
