I'm the movies and who better to ask about the movies.

Oscar weekend isn't a big weekend for new releases but there are up a coupled this week tell us about MS -- and -- Yeah -- -- -- -- sacrificial -- this weekend couple movies that are gonna appeal to an audience that may not be into the Oscars.
Our younger male demographic first up its niche which stars Dwayne the rock Johnson.
He plays a guy who is kind of an average Joseph owns a trucking company his son ends up in jail for drug trafficking.
Kind of by mistake kind of -- for it and because of mandatory sentencing laws in the state to -- -- this kid this high school -- kid is looking at ten years and president to get him out.
-- Johnson decides that he's -- infiltrate a drug cartel.
And start snitching on the drug runners.
Susan Sarandon also stars in this -- the US attorney the performances are very good here but the critics are kind of split the scores only in the fifties and our tomato meter.
A lot of critics say that they -- the tone of the movie is really an even.
It tries to me too much of a statement about the effectiveness of mandatory drug sentencing laws.
And gets a little bit model because sometimes the movie -- this heavy drama and sometimes it turns into an action movie.
I have to say I also think the rock is really miscast here because at no point.
Do you feel like he's just this average guy getting in over his head you know the minute -- gangsters start threatening anything.
What's the Rockies he's six and a half feet tall -- -- you're about -- he's gonna eat these guys.
So but that being -- if -- big fan of his he does put it a very good performance here.
An -- and movie that's up this week yes our -- that I was just gonna say that's a 51% on on rotten to Matos.
Yes which is rotten on our site but it really means the critics are split on that unless something doesn't get fresh and took 60% as you know yeah.
Now the other movie that's up this week is that dark skies which is a scary movie.

This was not screened for critics it stars Keri Russell.
She's the wife -- -- and he did this couple that lives in the suburbs -- mysterious things start happening in their house.
Again this wasn't screened for critics if you -- scary movies are probably gonna like this especially if you liked.

But you know nobody really -- a good movie so I think that there at least the studios probably not expecting very good reviews here.
But if you're fan of these you're not gonna care about the Oscars and you're gonna go see hysteria really -- Yeah good point -- -- -- him at the Oscars let's get to your faults on the map there's been some.
Controversy Iran dad that the choice is the not the nominations this year also some controversy around the historical accuracy of a couple of movies Lincoln.
On go -- C zero dark -- So where do you think we are we going in terms of best -- -- best move because the people don't watch it closely this year because of all of us.
Yeah I think that -- -- first loss -- -- if you're looking to movies from around Hollywood for historical accuracy I guarantee you look at the best way that's very -- might even very very good point right are being his story overrides everything that being said.
I will say that I think -- is gonna be the one to beat this year I think that's gonna take best picture.
In spite of the fact that Ben Affleck didn't get nominated for best picture.
-- -- for best director now I think that Lincoln and zero dark thirty have a shot I think Lincoln's got a better shot at winning.
I wouldn't count out silver linings playbook either glad I I would say I was putting money down on -- I would be betting on -- Really OK I would love to see the value what I love about -- does this Ben Affleck as well is there is some personal story.
Of redemption I mean he he'd -- he became so successful.
So young and then became something of a -- things don't -- almost for a while.
And now here is proving himself to be a great director not the first time I hasten to lab but it's it's great to see his personal story -- -- think -- Oh absolutely absolutely you know here's a guy who became a punch -- to a lot of jokes you know.
Partly because -- picking really bad -- partly because he you know his love life I think that he's very talented.
You know he's behind the camera now he's doing -- a lot of actors -- done and sort of working behind the camera.
He's turned in three fantastic movies that any director would be jealous sob and I think that we're gonna see a lot more out of him I think he's turned into a great director.
And I will say one of the things Hollywood likes to -- -- somebody be successful that he didn't get an Oscar nomination.
This year but don't count him out I guarantee you we're gonna see him back at the Academy Awards in the future.
And just very good of violating no matter let's get the other you'll predictions -- the other two top awards I guess best actor best actress.
I've best actors a walk that stadium being the last two Brothers will be given to him now he doesn't have to show up our best actress I think is a little bit tighter.
I think it's gonna be close between Jennifer.
Lawrence suggested casting but I gotta go with Jennifer Lawrence -- she won the sag -- so I think she's who went for silverlight he's playbook.
