The United States and other major world powers -- offered Iran a deal on its controversial nuclear program.
Leaders from the group of six nation said.
That they will ease some economic restriction on Iran if Iran agrees to stop producing enriched uranium at the underground plant just that easy.
-- -- A running state television apparently blasted the proposal calling it only minor relief and saying it was unbalanced.
But the chief spokesman for the European Union said the meeting with the -- official today was useful.
John -- he's here now he's the assistant managing editor of the Wall Street Journal which is owned by the parent company of this network.
Useful.
Well it's useful that they're sitting down and talking.
Right that hasn't happened to since June.
But since then Iran has installed new equipment that allows it to enrich uranium even faster than before so the US is worried and Israel's worried.
That this'll give a day.
Breakthrough capability if -- decides to -- to go for.
The amount that's needed to make a nuclear weapons.
Isn't it possible that Iran sees this as useful as well in that it gives it more time and could be seen as a delay tactic on or an entirely so.
Just more delay on Iran's part they want to get.
The weapons capability.
Sort of up to where just below -- what they need and where they can quickly moved to nuclear capability.
That they've also kind of mixed sadness mixed messages here -- use some of the -- of uranium.
Two create a fuel rods for its test reactor once you do that.
You can't use that uranium to make weapons.
But it hasn't sold this additional centrifuge capability which is concerning the last.
And that's why you saw secretary of state Kerry talking about terrible consequences -- much less these talks lead to some.
Resolution of the problem these these sanctions have no doubt crippled the economy.
Justice sanctions against Cuba have since before I was alive but it hasn't changed.
Four -- -- hasn't changed.
A damn thing and it went in it has -- in Iran and yet you're making a really good point which is that political structure and economic structure kind of metabolize -- -- sanctions after certain point company it yourself you kind of get through.
-- Iran -- kind of very concerned about elections that they're holding in June well will the middle class in Iran say the sanctions are solicit here.
That we want our political structure to change to ease up on the nuclear -- That's what the west has been hoping for but so far that hasn't happened and the concern is that Iran we'll just muscle through these sanctions.
And get its capability and then the negotiations are really quite different.
As Israel's continues to try to build a government or form a government isn't there the possibility that some with the Israelis will go.
Going to.
Well Netanyahu has threatened that in over the last few years this has said that every you know that six months out there the deadline is gonna -- in the US has been very cognizant about.
Not having that happen.
Keep the pressure on for talks to try to avoid some unilateral action by Israel that leads to all sorts of cascading events and -- cascading events.
For the rest that they -- yeah that's true John -- thing.
