-- months the president's been traveled all the country.
Holding rallies instead of sitting down with senate leaders in order to try to forge and agreement over there in order to move -- bill.
We have moved the bill and the house twice we should not have to move a third bill before the senate gets off their -- billions to do -- -- that was house speaker John Boehner earlier today slamming the senate for failing to act to avoid the sequester and with only two days until the 85 billion dollar cuts go into effect.
-- we see the typical eleventh hour plan for Washington -- -- president panic continue to blame Republicans and offer no solutions kind of like Keith Ellison.
Joining me now -- reaction somebody who met with the president yesterday the White House.
The Republican governor from the great -- state of Wisconsin Scott Walker maybe you -- call me a yellow journalist immoral and a liar governor a that all the data identity on what -- at Olympia one.
Well we'll we'll have a little commitment wells to respect what will actually -- quite well and have a good congress you know the reality is the question I was trying to get out to log Keith Ellison to be actually wanted to hear it is.
That is the debt now sixteen and a half trillion dollars.
We're talking about cutting 85 billion of three point six trillion.
Is it immoral tomorrow that much money from our kids.
Well eyes it's kinda like get you know almost every day.
In our house so that we get those credit cards to get mailed to us you know try this credit card transact credit card.
-- be kind of like taking one of those credit cards going out going on a 100000 dollar spending spree.
And then handed the card off your kid and tell them here you get to pay the bill so that's the problem I think that's why most Americans assume when the president proposed.
The sequester back in 2011 in the congressman along with it.
The very idea was we had to get serious about deficit reduction we had to get serious about tackling the debt.
And the theory was at that time and it's coming true now is that the cuts would be so bad they'd be so -- -- the president called them yesterday.
That the president and the congress who work some way to find out they'll turn it well.
This is the moment -- that leaders are -- -- this is the moment which the president can stand up and say.
If he doesn't like the arbitrary nature these cuts which I think a lot of people are concerned about instead.
Use his administration offer a better more viable -- reasonable alternative.
But instead of that unfortunately he's going around does scaring people on the thinking the only way to get past this is the raise taxes yet again.
The president kicked the press out.
Prior to meeting with all the governors yesterday how -- the discussion with the president out.
Well you know there's that the normal beginning a senate cordial things but I and Bobby Jindal Mike Pence a mother's I think yes a pretty straightforward questions -- -- I say with absolute -- this.
I asked her the president he was concerned the words he used when the press was there was that these were arbitrary cuts of that that would be a great concern and I think.
For governors both Democrat republic got -- like we are concerned about -- arbitrary nature but I said.
Most of us governors the last two years in nearly every state in America have had to balance our budgets.
And most of us some use tax increases but most of us it was the Republicans.
-- the -- those budgets without raising taxes.
By taking control by by getting in charge of things working with our administration -- -- our cabinet finding way to get -- don't.
I suggest the president maybe if he was concerned about their return cuts the bright thing to do was to use his administration.
To offer -- better cuts alternative cuts.
And he's just -- interest and he's changed the scope now instead of just being about.
The deficit reduction through spending reductions instead he wants tax increases as a part of that did.
And I think most Americans believe that there's still too much waste fraud and abuse and -- federal government needs to be cut before anybody starts talking about tax increases.
I let let let's go to south of the president's that a demagogue I mean I'm listening to congressman Ellison.
He's bought into the demagoguery himself he's -- of hitting it as you pointed out this of those what the president wanted he requested the sequester.
Now they've kicked the can down the road as far as they can for the president goes out there today this is this is how insane this choice has become of him.
And it's very representative -- a president that -- gotten away with saying anything at will anytime he wants.
Now he's actually saying that this is a choice between disabled kids and -- kids being -- -- watches from earlier tonight.
No problem is when -- -- 85 billion dollars in seven months.
Which represents.
Over -- 10% cut in the defense budget in seven months.
There's no Smart way to do that.
There's no Smart way to -- -- you don't wanna have to choose between.
Let's -- -- -- like close.
Funding for the disabled kid or the poor -- -- -- close.
This navy shipyard or.
Some other.
-- on the disabled kids -- dollar cut the -- kids what do you make of the president's rhetoric.
Well I think it's it's a moving target to hit and I think the American people just don't buy into that they understand that they believe in every level government the local level the state got a report particularly -- -- Federal government.
They know they see it all -- on that there's waste fraud and abuse all over the place and they believe that a small portion of that is not a whole lot to ask.
The people on the Washington the president the congress to get down.
Get to the table and find a way to get it done and to me this is just one of those rare moments in American history where calls for leaders to stand up and get it done and and -- demagogue every.
Think about the president the other day and released -- talking point the White House released talking points state by state.
About the cuts that we put in place to the press before they actually gave -- to the governor's every govern America was invited to be there yesterday.
We didn't see that as we had to learn about those first from the press before we saw that in.
About providing leadership to right alternatives you talk about.
That with the governor's first before releasing the present this is about talking points is about scaring people this is -- of -- and the leadership to actually get things under control.
It's -- by trainer change the debate to put it on the -- on the backs of the American taxpayer that -- a working for second or now.
We need leadership to step up and provide a better positive alternative.
Governor it's immoral to steal from our children that's for doing thank you for being with us.
Thank you shot.
