So an extreme weather alert now this powerful winter storm slamming parts of the midwest taking aim.
At another large section of the country this thing's been on the move.
From Wisconsin now more than a foot of snow on the ground there and -- now the storms on the move yet again Steve Brown live -- -- And -- this -- the big problem is how heavy the snow is right Steve.
Absolutely I'm not a meteorologist not a Janice -- Maria Molina -- Rick -- -- but when snowballs -- that easy to make just by reaching down and grab -- you know there's a lot of moisture with this storm and -- calls -- all sorts of -- let's start with the roads.
It does make -- much more slippery because that snow was so much heavier.
And so much harder to move to its snowplows on occasion during this storm -- found themselves in the ditch also.
-- -- That collect that's now those thousand -- to start to -- and sometimes break that takes out power lines.
That's a scenario that we're taking a look at in Michigan right now particularly southeast Michigan and then the other portion of the have a -- heavy snow.
Is when the roof may actually fall in -- to a couple of people.
Who experienced it.
Winners of this sounded like Thunder -- -- and we knew it was -- three and I have one now looked up backside of the law.
Well mine and says don't YA get -- at the -- -- We'll have to -- little portion of the -- that had just dropped and I could see inside the other building.
-- when -- went up looked over the wall.
It was like just the big old huge.
And that's when I realized.
We gotta get out there.
Now for the folks in the northeast portion of the United States this storm is headed your way and projected due to -- even more snow was so the danger of that heavy snow is magnified.
If you live in new York New England -- along the Atlantic coast bill.
We had to -- in the winter earlier today it's got to be a mess for travelers.
How goes it there and am.
It absolutely is yesterday at -- one airport 700 flights affected canceled delayed what have you.
On the same sort of story going on right now with -- a lot of snow heavy -- hard to move around it's slippery imagine a plane trying to gather speed for take off there.
The other problem is this -- we're gonna ask my photographer to pan up.
Give -- a look at the top the IBM in the trump tower.
You've got a really low cloud ceiling can't even see the top of the trump tower here in -- I got that low cloud ceiling means that and a lot of airports particularly at O'Hare we've got ground stops going on.
That's a major headache for any kind of traveler because until that lifts.
Then you can't even move traffic in -- or if you can it moves really slowly so between the weather in the cloud ceiling.
It's going to be difficult for air traffic flowing mid west to east today and -- big ripple effect from out of order to our nations -- you guys this.
Thank you Steve Brown it's late February and -- got.
