And that guy is Jim Messina.
There talking about obamacare and making -- get some sort of like.
Flying bird representation of the president's 2010 health care law and Messina was.
The president's campaign manager.
And guess what.
He still lives and this is power play and I -- Chris -- -- and what happens when a reelected president.
Keeps his campaign apparatus going well we're finding out but what happens if that campaign apparatus can partner.
With our corporations.
Special interest groups and others and if it's not regulated and -- unlimited contributions and things -- weird.
We'll talk about that we'll talk with the consequences for journalism and dare -- say democracy.
We will talk about those things will talk about the front lines in the battle between the states.
And the federal government drawn through attorneys generals.
Attorneys general offices across the country will have one of the top -- journalists in that ongoing struggle who's in Washington for their annual meeting.
And we will yes we will.
Whether you like -- -- not talk about the sequestration.
We will have with as a member of congress to talk about whose turn is it.
To do something fake as it relates to sequestration will do all of those things we'll have -- -- Charles.
You'll enjoy it.
But I want to tell you something.
I want to tell you something important and at.
That you -- going like this for segment and I know you're going to like it because it features two individuals.
That it is my unexpected.
Honor in my career to call colleagues.
Please say hello to your friends Fred Barnes -- he's the executive editor of the weekly standard.
And Juan Williams -- is Fox News political analyst.
You also a columnist for -- though.
That you read and watch him at Fox News Latino you experience Juan -- multiplatform basis we all we all do now so yeah.
Gentlemen you.
The two -- you do not agree on everything this this is true.
I think most things except for the Washington -- except for the Washington Wizards tried but I would suspect at least I would hope based on my esteem for both of you.
That both the view that were given some degree of -- -- when it was announced that the president was going to not only keep his campaign operating -- the keep raising me.
-- that the that the reelected president usually the only break that we get Internet in politics in America is that when a president gets reelected.
-- knows that he's going to be pain in dogs or whatever he's going to be doing in a few years and can turn that stuff on the but that Obama is doing this and is not subject to FCC regulations anymore it's not subject to any thing.
And now we learned today that Jim -- the -- running that operation is going to be taking a private clients.
Who have objectives similar to those of the president so if so tell me I'm right tell you guys -- in some agreement this.
Well I can tell you a good deal what I think and -- but I think we'll have some agreement I mean I mean this organizing for America that they're keeping going.
He is breathtakingly hypocritical.
The figure -- -- that would for the New York Times said it offers.
Ample up potential for influence peddling.
And also you know if you -- you if you donate enough money.
Well then you have access to the president so they're selling access that's another thing it's unprecedented nobody ever heard of anything like this before.
I think it's unnecessary who has the biggest megaphone.
In the entire world.
So most famous President Obama and the military is one good thing about -- I think and that it.
Appears to be legal it appears to really appears to be legal that the one what do you think.
I think they're working there appears to be illegal is if you're selling access to the president.
Now we'll see -- -- that's not true.
But I think the whole.
Sort of contraption.
Is so.
Transparent in terms of selling influence that it I find it.
Feeling -- find -- a little anxious and even in terms of the presentation and I might tell you Internet at our friend.
This has -- an excellent column on this very topic then please take a look.
But the -- -- to me I understand that we are in a permanent campaign.
And anything I'm not President Obama did what I think everybody hello my question becomes how do you influence from Obama's perspective how do you put pressure on congress and he now.
Is going sort of not only is he absentee himself from.
Negotiating with the congress directly but now he's putting the pressure on saying that he wouldn't put together money guys who can create this.
-- can't pay structure outside to put pressure on OK I understand that.
But you know what it's just too much in terms of the structure when people think it's all about -- this is what -- -- about the hypocrisy plus.
How about this and of the Internet has already bubbling over with this.
But the the funniest thing to -- political -- -- today with the second phase of the -- which is the partnerships.
That will be facilitated.
Between.
You can companies unions outside groups.
And I made fun of its -- column upon mention that you imagine if it was announced that Karl Rove.
Would be partnering with Exxon but at the same time still working for George W.
Bush it would have been how you could spread the funniest thing in the political -- rolling this out was that this that he won't be a lobbyist moved courses -- registered to lobby where I know smartest person who wants to peddle influence yeah.
What ever register as a lobbyist registering for lobbyists and at the end inside joke in Washington as Billy people who register and as lobbies in Washington more people who don't have influencing people noted they'll have to grind out legislature it's their bosses who -- the end -- All right yep it's the -- -- they -- they send up to the hill and look.
Active at the core.
President Obama doesn't need this he's the president of the United States.
And and then he may have had trouble negotiating with Republicans and they complain about negotiating with him.
But he doesn't need organizing for America -- -- I suspect.
The Democrats.
On Capitol Hill aren't going to be crazy about this either I mean -- -- -- date will have no control over what these ads are talking about ads.
Running and one of the rationales for it is well you know we can run ads against the NRA -- -- Grew zero point -- -- certainly doing that anyway they don't.
I think Obama and his campaign must realize you know we're pretty good at this you'd hope that that would -- You just let me just say that's that's typically that -- not that this is an environment you can talk about inside -- that are happening with comfort given the sophistication the audience.
The reality is that typically after the reelection and the people who working payments over and run the DNC -- the -- -- you are.
And these organizations do act basically at the behest of the president's political games.
You -- you identified exactly what is on the and that's fine job of electricity and ask questions.
Are you what's -- what are the chances this campaign will backfire on the president because it takes money away from groups traditionally dedicated.
The strengthening and space.
When he house and senate elections now I have a supposition is that he doesn't care.
He's not much care he has never been interest in too much and strengthening the DNC or the Democratic Party he's been and his -- this is that the house of Obama.
More than it is trying to leave and Obama imprint on the DNC.
Well I mean he's had his people running the DNC.
-- senator from Virginia for example yeah it didn't change in -- over there and very -- Jim -- with these guys that I didn't no no -- the first governor to endorse in the -- and I don't know I mean this -- I don't know that this -- -- and not done.
Yeah I know this is one of the big worries on the democratic side in general is Obama all about Obama into the -- -- and going forward.
The coalition that backed elements of the times and the coalition is as bad news for the Republicans.
Is that Republican tied into Obama specifically as a brand as opposed to the democratic plan going forward and you look at the turnout.
For Obama as opposed to his democratic candidates in state -- say well gee look at that discrepancy -- -- so much higher for Obama.
Now the question in my mind is the scene and going forward looking out or just Obama or is he also looking out for the democratic brand is no indication -- -- -- -- -- idea.
Rest for sure that look this is the one thing that Republicans are hoping for.
That the coalition.
That Obama -- in winning.
First in 2008 and more impressively even in 2012.
Is an Obama coalition and it's not a majority democratic coalition but there's one other thing wanted.
Good -- you all remember.
What it is that gets president's in trouble in their second -- There right now there is one there is one word for the whole word overreach -- and boy this is overreaching.
Like we've never seen before by a president this is W no president's ever done anything like this.
If you want to see something interest in and and I commend you at 215 today if you watch our friend Megan Kelly's -- on Fox News channels from the -- but not you not that you don't usually get to see.
The president of common cause.
-- liberal watchdog group is going to come on the Fox News Channel and decry.
This continuation of organizing for America or Obama for America that they now -- organizing for action which I don't know what that means.
But he's gonna come on and and and talk about ethnic group is already -- today.
This is trouble.
So see how strange things and millions and us and gentlemen it is it is no surprise that the Internet enjoyed your time this evidence that you -- Honored and well thank guests.
Are more honored and while I guess ahead for you Internet as we talk to an attorney general who is one of those locked in mortal battle.
With Eric Holder and President Obama over a host of issues we'll talk about what it is that state attorneys general.
Are doing in these fights out of that issue and what the outcomes will be you'll enjoy it.
-- -- -- -- to what if you have said all of these actions are consistent with the historical use executive power.
That was attorney general Eric Holder speaking to the National Association of Attorneys General and this is apparently now one of the attorneys general that he would have probably had very much in mind.
As he was talking about the historical use.
Of executive power is Scott Pruitt who is the attorney general of Oklahoma general welcome you to what -- secrets now the -- I'm sure.
That that you and attorney general holder did not take time to hang out while you've been in town for the national conference.
But a lot of his remarks could have been directed at you you've been fighting him on EPA's you've been voting adminstration and EPA stuff human friendly administration on banking regulations -- confronting the administration healthcare all of these things.
So I -- you guys to breaking bread together.
No we did not use it for it was a brief appearance that he becomes generally to every national association meeting that we happen and -- comments that are consistent.
With the areas that you subscribe you -- demonstration.
That has routinely Chris taking -- steps that that really or inconsistent with the constitution affect -- said many times the constitution and -- this president.
Is a very dangerous thing.
When you look at Dodd-Frank.
The Dodd-Frank legislation.
There -- separation of powers issues they're due process issues.
We had eleven states now assuming that that the federal government here the DC court with respect that and constitutionality of -- frank initially EPA.
Routinely under the Clean Air Act Clean Water Act yet the EPA ignoring black -- law.
And putting states in a very.
I think the whole position and it's the job of the attorneys general to look at the -- and make sure that the federal agencies in this administration.
Are held accountable that they actually follow the laws that congress is that this past.
And at me many times as president as you know this said we can't wait he he simply acts ultra barriers to law gives direction to agencies to say go do this.
And I think it's almost an attitude that says kind of stuff if you can't yes and unfortunately AG's have been for the position.
To respond to that told this president accountable.
You know it's -- saying the the way that the law works.
Is often frustrating people in politics because.
It doesn't things don't move in -- clear strokes but something that I find very fascinating is this the there have been a lot of stories lately about Republican governors coming out to accept the Medicaid expansion yeah under the president's 2010 health law.
But what's funny is if it hadn't been for the lawsuit that you guys had.
There wouldn't be any choice it wouldn't just be Florida New Jersey Ohio and some other states but Texas Oklahoma -- -- bright red states would be joining because they have -- You're exactly right before the lawsuit that attorney general rot in March 2010 -- after the states that you have a choice -- and expand Medicaid.
The president and Affordable Care Act -- show.
In the Supreme Court said no you cannot be that you're violating the spending power.
And of the constitution you can't intimidate or coerce or threatened states to expand Medicaid its choice.
And so did the very decision that governor Scott made recently in Florida.
Or the governor of Ohio -- -- governor and Oklahoma governor Fallon has said no that decision that they are making right now Chris didn't even exist to your point.
Before our outcome.
In the June decision from last year so.
That's federalism in action people sometimes look at federalism they say that's a legal concept that's abstract -- it's real it affects people are very personal way.
And we're demonstrating that is the attorney general.
And for people who live in Oklahoma or Texas your -- will be materially different as a result of this lawsuit that was everybody's said.
That the Republicans lost the lawsuit but in fact some pretty significant -- from it.
Now.
You mention what you're doing as it relates to bank regulation.
I wanna explore -- the question of the EPA energy and those things Oklahoma's biggest state it is natural gas and oil.
Are big in Oklahoma and a big part of what you guys do.
Out there the president has said as you said we can't wait and is gonna use the EPA.
To swing the -- not just on hydraulic fracturing for natural gas but also on carbon emissions writ large -- and all of those things.
Wouldn't what how does that -- -- What we've got several actions pending against the EPA and you're exactly right.
Though congress is said -- the Clean Air Act.
Though they set -- that the water act of respect -- -- fracturing that state privacy.
In the regulation of that process is is is Paramount.
The EPA's ignored that.
They've ignored -- the DL and rules that -- -- governor Jindal and I sent a letter to the president in December of last year that followed a letter that get McDonnell ascent.
Early -- year to urge the president to respect rule of law.
And to pull back the deal -- rules that were that were issued last year in fact they did the proposed rules would pull back earlier.
This year.
Now they're looking at again -- -- that when you think about hydraulic fracturing to think about the regional haze rule you think about current emissions as you've talked about.
Those are all efforts this administration to say we're going to -- the EPA to act in the super legislative fashion.
Because congress -- said one thing that the agencies are acting inconsistent with that I think it -- the other thing that that doesn't get a lot of attention.
-- you have certain nonprofits Sierra Club slaughter as guardians.
That will bring a lawsuit Chris against.
The EPA and justice who come in -- side of the -- In the same -- lawsuits brought they can best judgment in theater tickets -- called C would settle.
And there are blinded themselves to obligations that the law doesn't even require.
Affecting states all over the country so that there is a cozy relationship that exists between environmental groups.
This administration and the EPA the EPA should be regulators and industry not not punitive in their in the response to industry.
I suspect it to the courts and the -- -- be here in your your opinion on that a bit over the next four years yes yeah.
I'm -- it matters -- Stevie says I like this got -- my kind of guy fighting all that Chris good for him.
So the Internet is pleased with you today general and even though the Oklahoma -- have not been that welcoming -- the west.
Here is in the big twelve I'm pleased to see today to -- glad to make and we're glad I have now here's the big twelve you won't be so happy when we start being yeah okay we're gonna take a quick break but when we come back we gonna talk to a congressman about whose turn it is to try to -- fake stopper whatever the sequestered.
Will do that.
When we come back -- stick around.
Have moved the bill in the house twice we should not have to move -- third bill before the senate gets off their -- and billions to do something.
I think he should understand.
Who is sitting on their post area.
We're doing.
My best here to pass something.
The -- doing nothing to try to pass anything over there.
All we're asking is that they close.
Loopholes for the well off and welcome back to her for hedge fund managers.
Wolf competence or or corporate jet owners.
Who were all doing very well.
And those people represented the leaders of various branches of your government Internet that was house speaker John Boehner.
And senate majority leader Harry Reid -- -- -- -- -- back and forth about who's sitting on what.
And President Obama saying if Brett if the Republicans would just stop protecting private jet owners that this whole sequestration thing could be resolved.
And as we countdown to the deadline that's not only a deadline.
We are experiencing the ultimate in blame gaming here in Washington as everybody says whose fall.
The thing that nobody really likes is and this is powered by and let's go right to John -- he is congressman he's a Democrat.
From the commonwealth of Kentucky.
From the metro Louisville area congressman welcome back to the -- thanks Chris -- -- -- OK question.
The accusations were flying yesterday they continue to fly today about who should be doing -- To stop the sequestration.
But we're not gonna get a meeting between the president and congressional leaders until Friday which is gonna be in the hours before it goes into effect.
Is is this blame -- worth doing.
The blame game is is about as stupid as the sequester as.
And all I know is I'm not to blame because I voted against the budget control like I thought this was a bad idea to begin -- -- that that's neither here nor there -- The problem is that we can easily head this off.
Nobody wants of that -- are very few people do and I'll -- to this.
Either delay it for a month when we will figure out how to fund the government after march 27 anyway or we just say we're gonna repeal the budget control act.
And get rid of it we don't need.
The president and speaker Boehner to sit down or Harry Reid we just need to pass -- in both houses and to be honest.
Not I think the president's a little bit wrong on this but for speaker Boehner to wash its hands on this whole thing and say.
It's real reason I have nothing to do we have no responsibility here seems to me to be ridiculous particularly when he's talking about -- That the Republican congress passed in the last congress and actually have no force and effect was that the congress expires.
-- and -- had a good point that is that is often not been made is that those bills are are dead now.
Now we do know that.
That whether -- you pointed out.
The it would be helpful to move the effective date to the end of march when it would be concurrent.
With the end of the continuing resolution currently operating government in the absence of -- budget.
But because of how this sequestration actually works.
Isn't that the same net effect is in this sort of pay -- -- deadline.
Because it takes time for lay off to a current things to a.
-- absolutely.
I'm convinced that we will essentially resolve this between march 1 and march 27 as we do the continuing resolution.
And that very little impact will that will occur between.
Now and then.
Obviously if the sequester -- to go -- for any length of time to remind you some see a significant impact.
But I think a lot of the scare tactics that -- been thrown out there are a little bit of premature.
All right congressman one last -- I have to ask -- before I let you go.
Isn't looting and constantly running -- Mitch McConnell -- in Kentucky.
Oh yes absolutely.
Obviously there's been a great deal of excitement over the potential of an Ashley -- candidacy she is a serious.
Potential candidates I know she's doing.
All the things that a serious candidate would do to to explore race but if she doesn't do it there's some other people waiting in the wings that I think would be very very formidable opponents do.
Which is very vulnerable his numbers are horrible.
Statewide polls -- only 70% of intelligence say they'll definitely vote for him for reelection -- only 34% of Republicans say that.
So love the opportunity is there to retire him after thirty years.
Congressman will be watching thanks to make are -- I think Chris thank you.
Okay Internet on the hunt Jonathan Hunt is in fact up next I know you like that.
But what about -- power points.
-- today's -- points oh great more politics.
Food.
First are quite good and -- say that Mark Twain.
Once was asked to critique somebody's writing and he said there is to question your work that is good.
And now unfortunately the parts are that are good are novel in the parts that are novel are good.
The truth is that in the President Obama is continuing.
Continuous.
Campaign.
We're not seeing anything -- we're seeing the same application of the things that we've -- from before and guess what none of those things.
Have yet got us to better or more functional government here in Washington there's been a lot of chest thumping.
But not a lot of result.
-- second PowerPoint about this spheres of influence.
This is opening the doors now whether or not President Obama does this or whether or not -- does this or whatever they do let's say that they keep their hands totally pure.
They have opened up spheres of influence unimaginable.
Two a previous generation of presidents and politicians for buying at.
Access into an administration.
It something else.
I gotta tell you it's something that should concern Republicans and Democrats alike because it's not necessarily what happens now but the precedent that's been set what will be done in the future markets so here's -- third -- -- You know what the president is relying on these as crutches he know we know that he does not liked him to deal we know that he does not like personal politics we know that he doesn't want to have to compromise with Republicans we've heard it from Bob Woodward and people inside his organization that's not how he rolls he doesn't like to do deals.
And he doesn't like to facilitate these kind of agreements but guess what.
It's the only way stuff happens as long as -- leaning on the crutch of a permanent well funded campaign.
He's never gonna make it in several -- different and that's truth and you noted that and you know -- Dag on well.
And now as we like to do every day we will leave you with the word from our French are.
It's.
What all of this is about is creating enough revenue.
Increasing American -- taxation so that he can have an entitlement state -- you have in Europe which requires European.
And -- levels of taxation he's not interest him in debt united stating cutting -- and in deficits he wants to spend because he wants to expand its stake.
That's what all of this is about.
