Owners may not be getting their money's worth after -- The EPA launching an investigation into the accuracy of gas mileage estimates for some of these green vehicles are claims of fuel efficiency.

A bill was a consumer reports test of two Ford hybrid vehicles the new Ford C Max hybrid wagon and the Ford Fusion hybrid.

Consumer reports bought one of each of these cars and -- some real world testing.

The results confirmed that the EPA mileage figures were way off further off than the tests of any previous vehicle.

EPA and Ford had claimed that the EC -- hybrid delivered a combined city highway mileage of 47 miles per gallon.

Consumer reports testing found it was really 37 miles we -- -- difference of ten miles per gallon.

The EPA and Ford said that the -- hot the Ford Fusion hybrid delivered 47 miles per gallon as well combined city highway.
