What do you journalist Bob Woodward might not be the only member of the press to be bullied by the White House side now by a long shot now other reporters are speaking -- same thing happened -- the only worse joining us now one of those reporters.
-- political correspondent of the Christian broadcast network David you've had one along with a presence before.
Would you also know when the president doubt the other side of the White House when you write something or do something they don't like what -- your experience.
-- -- tell -- brown there was this one incident and it was back in 2009 April 2009.
The Georgetown -- story at the tire I don't know if you remember which President Obama went to speak at Georgetown they -- -- this.
I think day there was a removal of this -- brand symbol that represented Jesus Christ and a lot of conservatives especially lot of evangelical organizations want to know hey wait wait a minute what's going -- why did.
Of the White House request the removal of this well it's a long -- bottom line is I try to get an answer on this.
I just wanted to simple response what was going on.
And and in essence what started as just some verbal -- frustration by the White House and I would even want a response about this story -- turned into a full.
Full -- shouting match on the phone with some choice words shall we say.
And it escalated from there look it was just a simple response is simple statement we want -- from the White House.
And instead it was a very prickly prickly atmosphere.
There and that we find out if people come forward now people from Jonathan Alter who -- been a friend to the White House he's gotten frozen happened as he did something or ask something made in like.
You have the daily call reporter Neil Monroe -- come forward -- 48 as well as come forward.
So this Bob Woodward that titan of investigative journalist coming forward could be opening up the floodgates for rebalancing of the relationship -- -- great.
I think to a absolutely to a degree look at what with a -- work -- came out set myself wait a minute.
That's a little bit like what they were doing a million and a few other journalists as well what I mean that this has been going on really as a as an -- -- a method of operation by this White House.
Since state since they started I have 41 on one for the bomb in 2008.
Then I started to cover the White House in 2008 through 2010.
And it seemed like there was just a turn in in the relationship not not not from any sort of personal who cares about -- it was just more about a simple information that was needed.
And it was just it was guilt trip after guilt trip and beyond that then it started to turn into like I said.
Some sort of -- Such such frustration by the white house -- why would you do something like this.
And how how dare you would you really want your journalistic career to be defined like this I mean -- -- was like got my mother giving your guilt trip I felt like I need to start therapy session.
And you didn't hear you know people say well what's Bob Woodward threatened -- -- -- bottom line is he was screamed up at thirty -- for saying something.
That he knows for a fact was true about how yell at the lab to yell at somebody he's not gonna change his mind if he thinks it's true but I was of staggered to see one of these stories.
How many other reporters like for example from the Atlantic founder -- since -- he had a huge blow up you have CBS White House correspondent bill plant he's had big blow up with the White House.
What do you think could ever convince the White House to come aboard and understand that not everybody is gonna agree with them on every issue.
What -- I think that traders left the station don't think there's anything that's gonna convince them what they they are rabid defenders of this president and let's -- let's be honest here.
At the beginning especially the beginning of the president Obama's term.
-- there was a lot of criticism coming from some.
Out so to speak far right places I think -- were trying to push back about on that big time I think they were overly sensitive when it came to that so -- -- in their defense I mean that's their job to be defenders of the president that's exactly what they did sometimes though they took too much different level brightness consequences that because you have the power that typewriter.
And that the television camera -- the radio voice David Brody chief correspondent for the CBN thanks so much.
Thanks for all right --
