Welcome back to on the Honda folks -- dot com live I'm Jonathan hot.
-- -- weekly audience would -- -- sack the Pope of politics sitting in his direction Washington DC.
-- of course is the managing editor of the hill our favorite political publication great to see you as always -- They definitely got great thank you I read some interesting.
Articles in and they held today.
Including this idea the -- Ryan is suddenly singing a somewhat different tune all the -- Karen people I'm not yet happened.
Yet there are a moderates Republican moderates who are very nervous about Ryan's budget that's upcoming hasn't been released yet.
But his last budget took decades to balance and and conservatives in the house -- we want to balance the budget in ten years so an order.
For Ryan to do that he is bracing his colleagues to say.
We'll listen last year we -- on the presidential campaign trail that.
Medicare would not be changed under the Ryan budget for anyone 55 and older well now because he needs some.
More revenue and and cut Medicare to save it.
He's gonna have to bump that number it looks like to 5657.
To -- maybe even 59.
But it somewhere in the and that's when -- win that Republican moderates some of them -- -- in tough free elections.
-- really.
Will have expressed their concern that they didn't and they don't want to vote for that kind of think they've been promising 55 and older don't worry about it.
So this is going to be a tough battle for John Boehner and his lieutenants and Paul right to pass their budget.
Probably within the next month.
Is John Boehner the most frustrated man on earth right now it.
He sees grass.
Outside the body and within the body all the time it would seem and -- it without and I think I John -- -- the toughest job in in Washington he's gone toe to toe with the president.
He's won some battles -- certainly has lost some battles loss of fiscal cliff negotiations when he tried to pass plan B which never really had the votes.
So it's been it's been a very to -- very difficult two plus years for.
For John Boehner and he's looking at another struggle to pass his budget remember Republicans -- -- the one.
Calling out the senate democratic senate which is not pass the budget for years well.
This is going to be heavy lift to get the votes -- all Democrats are gonna vote now I Sherri that that's gonna happen so.
How many defections can house Republicans have it's in the range of fifteen and that's it and last year there were dozens of they've got to keep that under fifteen.
All right another thing -- you be looking at up the hill is.
The with the sequestered now -- and place a President Obama switching its focus a little -- so.
He had -- do you see at the present a -- what his real priorities are and avoiding the sequester was not a top priority in immigration.
And gun control most of the issues that present Obama has been calling members of congress he's not been.
Prone to do that but on immigration and guns he talked senator Tom Colbert.
Recently on.
Gun control legislation Coburn and Schumer -- trying to get a bill together.
On immigration when we saw that leak of the administration's proposal.
That was obtained by USA today -- Obama got on the phone with Marco Rubio Lindsey Graham John McCain and had a meeting at the white house with John McCain.
And Lindsey Graham and both -- and -- it was a great meeting.
And and they'll -- push those are two members been very critical the president on bent on ending Ghazi attack so.
This -- -- -- we had the White House kind of scare the public that the in the sky was gonna fall -- on Friday Obama so well it's not the apocalypse.
They're making the case that this is going to be destructive to the economy.
But in a very slow moving eventual way that that's a hard political sell sell the sequester is here to stay at least for for quite some time I think.
All right and now a story that is very dear to my -- it's something has been told to back.
Frequently -- for this he's -- gathering a little -- the idea that the Washington Redskins the greatest team -- full bowl should change their name wife's.
So well I've talked to us civil rights activist John Lewis from from Georgia and he said that.
We have to be sensitive to two when names are -- to people and he said that the risk and should consider.
A name change we -- recently congressman Tom Cole.
Who is American Indian saying that that the rest and should definitely.
Change your name and an -- hormones known as Norton for the first time yesterday she got on the phone with me.
And she said yes absolutely the risk and should change their name she said there's no way that a compatible name.
To blacks would stand this long so she says he's a big fan -- she's not a big fan of the team and -- and eventually.
The Redskins will change your name and also reminded me that.
Remember -- the bullets the Washington bullets -- were changed of that the Washington Wizards as she says.
It can be done but the Redskins -- didn't comment for the story and they're not gonna change your name at any time soon that's for sure.
Maybe they should consider changing it to the Washington RG three he's given that he's carrying the -- on -- back anyway.
That could be popular at least for awhile you have detained but not me I -- did you -- everything -- Bob Cusack managing editor of the -- legacy was always bump.
