Now six months after the attacks in Ben Ghazi lawmakers fuming they have not been allowed to speak -- -- American survivors.
A story takes on a new urgency after secretary of state John Kerry.
Confirming with our own James Rosen that he secretary Kerry.
Visited -- survivor still recovering a Walter Reed hospital in Washington is Republican congressman Ed Royce chairman of the house foreign affairs committee on this.
That is absolutely unbelievable.
That we -- in the United States.
Could not obtain access.
To those who.
Who participated in this who had knowledge about it.
And that is being blocked.
And we want answers as to why we cannot obtain the facts and interview those who had a hand in this -- and why they're not brought to justice.
I would -- last on the special report with us now Republican congressman Jason -- fits on the judiciary and oversight committee but in the house sir good morning -- -- welcome back here to.
Americans news allegedly -- a -- -- a baseline of knowledge here how have you tried to reach out to the survivors.
Who are now back stateside.
Well I went to Libya shortly after the -- was able to visit with just a handful people -- a lot of them I was not able to talk with so I've been trying to do this for the last six months.
We know that some people were interviewed in that Tripoli we know that some went on to Germany some were injured somewhere interviewed there.
We have at least one person from the State Department who is still still in recovery at a hospital six months after the fact.
I appreciate that secretary.
Kerry went there.
But they will not give us the names in fact we've been told that one of the people.
Who actually went to the hospital had their name changed on the hospital records so we can't even find now what what why would they not give you the names.
I I don't know -- is this is alleged plot why why this -- -- there has to be a reason why they're trying to protect these people from something or somebody like you.
-- -- that's -- he -- it causes so many questions because we are now in our eight.
Charge a documents it's still just a couple weeks ago they're still giving us documented six months after the fact.
We still have whistle blowers who will provide -- information they want allow us access.
To the materials that the accountability review board -- that we would like to do we'd like to talk to the accountability review board they don't wanna do that we wanna talk to the survivors they won't do that and that the president has the -- to go on television that they all we're providing all the access.
Baloney bull crap that is not happening how many are there.
Survivors I've heard I don't even know I don't even have a -- list and when they go to the hospital and they changed their name.
You're gonna happen lawmakers like myself -- are gonna go out there and continue to pound on the desk and say.
Mr.
President the White House mr.
secretary for by this that they this information were not collect all of this -- how we get to the bottom up.
-- right now.
You wonder about the condition of these survivors.
Are they able to talk.
Are -- still recovering from injuries.
Do you have let -- sect.
Secretary Kerry said that he went and spoke with and again this is just one individual we have a more than a dozen people that were engaged in this.
We think we should be able to talk to look we have four dead Americans we got hundreds of embassies thousands of people serving overseas.
We want to understand what helped -- this and how do we prevent it in the future that's still aren't operating -- the here that -- Fox News has learned that House Intelligence Committee and some of its members will be able to see some of the talking points.
That were were circulated back in September.
What he -- about this.
I I know that the senate particularly Lindsey Graham has been tenacious on this.
They -- some documents as well but again this begs the question why won't the State Department just give us what we requested and we're getting to the point bill.
Where we're going to be left with no choice except to issue a subpoena we don't wanna do that -- or six months into this and we don't have -- come back to the subpoena but if you have the talking points -- September.
How would that change the -- usually.
Well I think we need to find out what led up to the attacks and and and how -- we -- -- prevent that in the future.
What went down and those -- -- five hours during the attack and then.
Afterwards how the administration misled the American people in the World Bank that -- really three big buckets why have you not issued -- -- -- -- -- frustrated.
They know -- -- get nowhere at this point based on your current tactic.
Why not -- like.
It if it was unilaterally left up to me I would do that I would have done it months ago but I don't make those decisions I'm working closely with chairman -- that.
With the speaker's office but they've been I think exceptionally be on the patient.
And there comes a point where you just say look we've we've we've we've been polite we've been nice we're just not getting the answers in -- we continue get the -- on the assuming you've expressed that to.
But yet he had done an excellent site what would you expect to learn from the survivors if -- when you get the opportunity.
Talk to -- your what was question.
What happened what kind of communication.
Did you gasp for air support.
I am really worried that once we did have injured we did have dead bodies.
The extraction of those people back out of Ben Ghazi.
It -- but when a plane landed -- bad guys are getting injured people that point didn't go to Italy which was the shortest route you went back to Tripoli we have evacuated our embassy in Tripoli.
Why in the world that that plane take you.
To Tripoli and then didn't get you back to Germany -- -- 10 PM that night.
I think there's so many things you want to learn about the warnings about what happened on the getting them out of there.
-- and how we find the perpetrators.
Listen we want to bring you back will be in touch with others to once they get a look at some of these talking points -- circulated between.
The CIA the State Department and the White House and and what they might tell us about what happened on September left -- -- -- thank you for your time --
