Now we -- in this powerful winter storm targeting a mid Atlantic and the northeast bringing wind gusts of more than sixty miles an hour in parts.
But the biggest problem could be the flooding there is a significant threat.
Stretching from the state of Delaware up to Massachusetts.
And and right of the bullseye of all this you see there -- New Jersey town still trying to recover after super storm sandy.
Rick Leventhal live in Point Pleasant beach New Jersey what -- in there today Rick good morning.
You know bill not nearly as bad as they had predicted but they're -- -- -- some issues on the Jersey Shore were standing on one of the many temporary -- they built to try to protect.
From storms like the one that's in this region right now.
Again not nearly that bad it's not a brick township establish the mayor told us they dodged a bullet on this one but beyond that and and man allocating how we get -- some video -- -- was breached.
The water reached the coastal highway -- there authorities there had to shut that road down and they have crews out there right now working to rebuild the dune.
-- hoping to avoid further problems when the high tiger turned around 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Another big issue here has been the winds we had tropical storm force us out last night -- in Cape May.
Which is the southern tip of the state and the -- here not some lines down bill they have a couple thousand people without.
-- -- and there's still damage all up and down that's yours as you well know -- and we've seen from your images there what about this flooding threat today.
Well fortunately -- Point Pleasant no issue with water on the road but in seabright new security do have some flooding there.
About a foot and a half on the on the -- water on the roads there when the shrewd very river backed up and other concerned that there could be more flooding.
This afternoon -- the -- hasn't left yet and they expect some snow.
Possibly rain if it warms up a little bit across this region and of course I don't Long Island it they're getting some heavy snow now.
I'd expect that throughout the day and winds thirty to fifty miles per hour there and and end up in the New England things to get a lot worse as this storm.
