And from -- Karzai's claims and -- history of controversial comments.
-- join -- your every Sunday at this time by John Bolton the former United States ambassador to the UN and Fox News contributor.
Good morning ambassador.
Good morning -- carrying goods -- America is Karzai and your -- this guy just off the deep end I mean 2000.
American servicemen and women killed in this country and we get this.
-- the notion that the United States in the Taliban are cooperating in that yesterday's.
Homicides.
Is fantasy and Karzai knows that I think he's trying to play.
Afghan politics to show he's both independent -- the United States and independent of the Taliban but this is a very dangerous game and if he's not careful.
That he's got to find the Obama administration.
What will call his bluff and leave him high and dry which I think is a mistake.
It's a mistake for us but it's a mistake for Karzai to that this -- -- just whatever whatever the internal Afghan politics out of it's a big mistake to act this way toward the united state.
I -- has a history of doing this -- one point he claimed that he would join the Taliban himself.
-- he called that -- -- and the United States occupiers even said if there was a war between Pakistan and the US.
Afghanistan would side with.
Pakistan.
Not us so what is it continue to do this.
Is it all for internal consumption or does he really go often this -- -- do view of its world whatever it is.
Well if he has -- unstable it's certainly not gonna help once our forces are withdrawn to this residual level that they're talking about.
The best spin you can put on it as they say is that he's trying to play Afghan politics but I don't think he's fooling anybody I really think this is a huge mistake.
The Taliban are simply waiting for the United States and the other NATO forces to draw down to the smallest levels they can.
And I think the Obama administration given its propensity to be comfortable with the decline of American power around the world.
Karzai gives them another excuse they'll pull out the residual force to announce the fall of his government to the Taliban will only come that much sooner.
Do you predict that I mean how do you think this shall play out and talk about the -- -- government coming soon.
No I I think that that giving up the effort that we've waged against the Taliban ever since 9/11.
I just about guarantee is that the Taliban will retake control I don't see the Afghan National Army is being capable of withstanding them and I think.
Karzai's fragile government will collapse sooner rather admire I think this is a huge loss for the United States not only because.
We don't want Taliban and al-Qaeda to have the base yet again.
To carry out terrorist attacks on the United States.
But I don't I don't want to see Pakistani.
In greater danger of being taken over by.
Radicals and having that country's nuclear weapons fall under their control that this is a very bad series of developments for the United States.
Well we're gonna turn a Bagram air base over to the Afghans and they cancel that because apparently they're releasing prisoners he says a lot of innocent people in prison.
Dessert allegedly there are Taliban sympathizers in militants who want to kill us.
I may -- can we trust them.
Well I think -- -- Karzai's trying to play double game he's trying to appease the Taliban by things like this prisoner release by the criticisms of the United States you noted.
But it's not gonna work the Taliban are not gonna be deceived by this so we have the Taliban not giving up we have these troubles -- Karzai.
And no someone who took your -- the United Nations Susan Rice now said to be tapped as the next national security advisor.
Come on a lot of controversy of course for the bad -- -- comments what's your view AdSense.
A Susan Rice serving as our nation's top national security advisor at the White House.
Well of course.
A lot depends on the current national security advisor deciding that he wants to leave government service to spend more time with his family or whatever the excuse is going to be when he leaves.
That's certainly been the speculation when Susan Rice clearly blew up after the 5 Sunday morning talk show interviews or her candidacy for secretary of state blow up.
There's a lot of speculation that she would become national security advisor and perhaps that speculation is rising to the surface again I think she has been.
And influential advisor to President Obama in the first term and would be in a second term no matter what her position is I think she's been more involved in.
Advising and formulating that the president's policy then Hillary Clinton was in the first term and probably will be in the second term to have.
-- -- -- -- -- -- Well I think she will reinforce all of the president's ideological bias -- toward the comfort level with the reduced American presence around the world I think it's I think the Obama administration policies gonna leave -- -- -- materially.
More dangerous place when he leaves office and think she and secretary Kerry and secretary -- are all going to be contributing to that decline.
I had a warning from John Bolton this morning ambassador always -- to -- and get your analysis and insight.
About -- affairs thank you -- of course.
