And a senator Jim dement says yeah -- Democrats to.

And that is the problem is you vaulted said senator.

Doing anything that has an expiration date.

More than a year right and and we're ready -- perhaps on something that we hope parade routes -- fingers.

Will materialize over ten years.

You're right Neil I don't think the Democrats even have a right to criticize -- only budgets we've seen from this president.

Have been budgets at nearly double our debt over the next ten years.

Harry Reid in the Democrat -- senate have not even produced a budget in the last three years.

I applaud Paul Ryan and the Republicans vote for stepping out being willing to take the criticism.

But like you said -- balancing the budget over a ten year period.

Is hardly extreme and if we don't do it.

All of us know we're going to bankrupt our country.

What worries -- senator is.

He's getting a lot of heat for this ten year plan -- even though as you've educated me in the past.

Under the most draconian plans and they were so many out there.

We were looking at still more spending ten years out than we're doing now.

Bigger depth -- bigger debt that ten years out.

So we're just shrinking the increase in the amount of spending were still ultimately spending more.

But you're right -- he doesn't cut spending he just grows spending.

A little slower than the economy grows so eventually the economy and tax revenues overtake.

Spending -- -- balance about ten years out.

That's not an extreme thing at all particularly when you consider.

That we've almost doubled spending over the last ten years so reducing that rate of growth.

Will not even be noticed by most Americans unless the president does what he's doing now.

Is trying to make it look like there's a problem when it really doesn't exist.

But we -- to be on the same page is a country that balancing the budget should be a national goal over the next ten years.

Then we can debate how to do it if the Democrats want to present a budget where they balance in ten years with all tax increases.

Let's debate it.

But there shouldn't be a debate whether or not we -- going to balance our budget -- everyone knows a fifth grader knows if we keep spending more than we're bringing an end.

We're going to bankrupt our country.

But everyone says that's a far off problem and I agree -- it's not a moral problem and I agree viewers that it used senatorial days.

Where each party -- dress it's sacred house Republicans defense.

And Democrats some of these entitlements they won't even touch but on the latter I got a little worried when I heard this and Jay Carney -- -- your reaction.

That.

It does not save money significantly especially in the first ten years.

And -- -- -- about raising it gradually and over many years I mean that was as essentially.

Idea non Grata -- right off the bat and I'm wondering.

-- that closes a lot of possible solutions you know.

-- -- -- what -- they don't present any solutions and that's their whole strategy is not to put anything out on the table and just criticize.

The Republicans who feel like they have a responsibility.

To rain and this spending so.

I hope America will see through what this president is doing -- Paul Ryan has begun the debate with a clear goal he addresses.

A Medicare without.

Affecting anyone over 55.

As he does this in the most the transitional and thoughtful way that you can a lot of us would like to try to balance it in five years.

But I think he's on like a good path.

I'm just hoping Americans will see through this rhetoric from the president.

He has been irresponsible as a leader we elected him to solve these kind of problems he's ignored them and made them worse it's time Americans figure this out.

Well it's also -- Republicans to kind of man out to your point earlier about.

Everyone put something on the -- -- -- and you know.

It this isn't as as tough as it -- and -- but senator thank.

What when they don't that we would -- we'd we have had -- one of the largest tax increases in history in the last few months.

Defense has been cut more than anything else and that's the primary function of the federal government.

So we shouldn't be too quick.

To say well we need to cut defense just like we need to cut all these social programs.

A lot of them that are working so we need a balanced approach aren't we -- one with a little common sense senator always pleasure thank you sir.
