-- for the very first time now President Obama has set a timeline -- when he thinks Iran could have a nuclear weapon.

What until -- hour an hour of America's Newsroom everybody I'm Martha -- I'm Bill Hemmer good morning morning she was well -- first time we've heard this now the president says he thinks Iran is only one year or more away.

From developing a nuclear weapon now -- -- leaders have a time line that puts Iran and the nuclear club a lot sooner than that possibly.

By even this spring.

So who is right that's the big question right now I'm done with Callaway is -- in the White House does two very different interpretations.

Of where.

Iran is right now in their -- -- -- nuclear weapon.

That's right rather than it is at the very heart of the discussions that the President Obama will be having with prime minister Netanyahu in Israel when they meet for discussions at next Wednesday.

A both sides obviously agree that -- Iran as well on its way to having a nuclear weapon.

But they differ significantly on the timing here's President Obama speaking to Israel's channel two just yesterday.

Think that it would take over a year or so per -- Around to actually develop a nuclear weapon but.

But obviously we don't want to -- too close and to what we're going to be doing is to continue to engage.

Internationally with a -- Understanding the which set -- the toughest sanctions ever it's having a significant effect.

But the US definition of achieving a bomb it also includes a delivery system for that bomb whether it's of a missile an airplane or or even a cargo ship.

On the other hand Israel is drawing a very different line in the sand based on how much nuclear fuel Iran has.

They believe that if Iran is capable of constituting 240 kilograms of enriched uranium they're probably only just a couple of months away from having a bomb.

In the New York Times today.

They report Netanyahu believes and I'm quoting here if Iran is just a few screw driver turns away from being able to construct -- weapon.

You'll have the same power in the region as if it actually had -- so.

Ironing out those differences are going to be an absolutely key objective is -- -- talks get under way in Israel against next Wednesday -- Without another big thing that they'll be talking about these sanctions which are supposed to be the toughest we ever had against -- we haven't seen sanctions be very successful in the past and Israel has a pretty different idea about how whether or not they're gonna work right.

You heard -- that -- by the president says that these are the toughest sanctions ever imposed he said that they are working.

But listen to what general James Mattis testified to before the senate armed services could committee on March 5.

Just a little ought to listen up.

Last question I'd have in your -- professional opinion the current diplomatic and economic efforts to stop Iran from obtaining.

Nuclear.

Weapons capability and are they -- -- -- There you haven't -- -- put on to say that he is paid to take a very dim view of Iran.

But Israel also at least those sanctions simply are not working it.

Working premise of it Netanyahu said that many many times over the last.

Well it's going to be interesting to watch the two of them together in between North -- -- on this president's got a lot on his plate right now that thank you very much.
