-- this week we watched as both Republicans and Democrats unveiled their budget proposals for the 2014.

Fiscal year.

And while liberals like Harry Reid were quick to describe congressman Paul Ryan's plan as quote extreme.

Tonight there are some very serious questions being asked about the democratic budget.

Released recently by senator pattern Patty Murray namely why is -- claiming that her proposal would reduce the deficit by one point nine trillion dollars.

While declining to account for more than a trillion dollars in added spending because -- plan would eliminate the sequester.

We'll GOP senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama expose this Fuzzy math when he confronted members of -- staff yesterday take a look.

And we're looking at a situation.

Where a year double counting and not counting.

-- trillion dollars in extra spending.

You're not counting a trillion -- the next disbanding.

By saying we don't just turn off the sequester.

Which allowed.

Trillion dollars more in spending to occur and not count it.

That's what we want to know and we intend to find out before this day is over.

And my colleagues if I'm wrong about this Allah Allah I except being an -- But our staff has looked at this I can't possibly say -- any other way than I have explained it.

And we've got other members you wanna ask questions and so we do -- -- -- can't elaborate on one trillion dollars.

We are really.

A big showing how it is that our country is in such financial expected.

Senator Jeff Sessions.

Well here's what else we know about the -- budget according to analysis conducted by the Republican senate budget staff.

He will increase taxes by one point five trillion dollars it would increase spending by 62%.

It will lower GDP by more than two trillion dollars over the next decade it will cost 600000.

Jobs per year.

Cut after tax income by almost three trillion dollars and it will reduce household income over all by well over to grant.

And Harry Reid says Paul Ryan's budget is extreme we'll joining me now to weigh in on this budget battle in Washington.

Fox News political analyst Kirsten Powers and co host of the five Dana Perino welcome both care -- Might -- -- the Republican senator from Idaho passed the senate budget staff.

What about this budget when we haven't seen the details what do you make of it.

What are the cuts what's the deficit reduction and I'm quoting now -- zero in the first year in totals that a member of that staff to senator paper.

-- even trying right zero.

What you know I don't know why it occasionally shocked by this after all we've heard from many leaders in the Democratic Party that they don't even think that there is a spending problem so he -- and -- the president has made pretty clear that cutting the deficit isn't his top priority.

So.

I you know I mean I actually don't share that that wanna be on I think they're Democrats who don't -- that -- revealed -- the but the the fact of the matter is the people who are the leaders of the Democratic Party today.

Have been pretty clear that there in the sort of Paul Krugman camp.

This is not a problem and you know if it's a problem that's going to be a problem and in ten years and so right now we just need to focus on.

You know spending money and keeping the economy moving and worry about the deficit later.

-- that's that's a fair point isn't it I mean that they don't they're not actually even pretending I'm outraged because it seems like an offense against math and science -- -- I think there's three camps the first camping is the continent folks at Pearson just mentioned it doesn't want to think it's okay to let that debt deficit go up.

Okay then you haven't well let's try to do let's slow it down a little bit but it's OK to have some that would be Obama.

Actually that's what he said this week on president commented on the George Stephanopoulos interview that he did this week with ABC.

Then you have the other group which is like Simpson -- to -- the -- CEOs and the house Republicans to say.

No the debt and the deficit are a problem for us and are holding back our economic growth that's where Jeff Sessions is.

Is it possible that these two camps -- these three camps can come together and and -- have some grand bargain that a lot of people in the media like to talk about I think it's hard to imagine that that will be the case.

One of the reasons that we had the debate this week with the senate Democrats in the house Republicans is because for the first time in 92 years.

The president and didn't go first.

We don't have his budget yet and we won't have it for another couple of weeks so I would imagine at the White House tonight that they're taken a close look at the criticism.

But that patty patty Murray's budget -- that they don't end up in the same boat.

It's a single that that is -- -- and.

Yeah won't just say -- you know -- didn't have what about race for the president set in this interview.

I think retinal looking at the president says I I really -- we need to look at his actions and once something is important to -- we know what he does right he goes out and he -- -- and he makes it very central.

That he just has not typically done that about the deficit -- you -- you know if you just look at the what do you look let's just take the last couple years you know for example.

So I would say it whenever he says about it it doesn't seem to be a high priority and like there are Democrats who care about this third way which this is sort of a new democratic.

You know group.

Very concerned about a big do you think it's something that -- of a -- And you can hear distraction related to that that we -- -- Dana mention Erskine Bowles from business.

Simpson commission -- longtime Democrat worked church for Clinton ran for governor repellent -- -- -- I keep hearing first hand reports.

That are stumbles as telling people.

A lot of people that he's extremely frustrated.

With Obama's unwillingness to face down our debt problem why isn't personable saying that in public I wonder -- would be helpful.

I don't know but planning and -- would like minded Democrats say those kinds of things behind the scenes and I think that they they do expect it to the White House and -- been very disappointed they're very you know very and they really believe that the president's rhetoric about wanting to have a grand bargain which we saw all the way up to the election was sincere.

And and now thanks sorry to say look you know put your money where -- this because there doesn't seem to be the kind of you know look at what you see one -- not -- want something.

You know he goes after it and he's still making a few comments here and -- we need to see him really step up and be the person that starts bringing the Democrats -- on this because.

I don't mean that -- you look at the Patty Murray -- that that's quite where they are it's totally and serious but why doesn't the president knew what.

What would it hurt him politically if he were to take yeah seriously think it would it would hurt him politically with.

Hit -- the ambitions that he that he has lined laid out for example today in Illinois President Obama talked about a new energy trust.

More spending for things like Solyndra.

Okay that was budget that was -- message going today was very straight at -- -- that's kind of delusional right and it do you like the Keystone Pipeline as a gift.

-- and basically now everybody has blasted except for President Obama we're just waiting on on his decision which he said -- to the house Republicans will come this week.

But I think this very interesting point about Erskine Bowles and other Democrats -- here from behind the scenes.

President Obama's problem isn't necessarily that Republicans.

You've got a huge problem with the senate Democrats he can't bring them along on something that the government be doing anyway which is this change CPI which is.

Really and I could technical fix things got inflation goes up and that it is not slowing down spending it is not reform it is just some in the government should be doing anyway.

-- this week there's a Wall Street Journal -- headline.

President Obama tries to woo Democrats over to his side.

So his problem is not what the Republicans you don't -- be able to triangulate with some of them -- problem is on his lap then where are they.

I mean I gotta say -- you always see there's always some courageous member of -- party he stands up against his own leadership to say this is just wrong.

On the democratic side I'm sure there's -- some -- I keep hearing about it but where's the courageous person who's gonna make that public.

Well know where I mean -- it you know it was left to Rand -- come up and say anything about the drums leniency nearly double that Ron Wyden aiming and he still wasn't even a central person I mean the Democrats are are no real profiles in courage -- stand up for anything as far as I can tell.

But did exactly right the reason that you know we're good Republicans are you saying like why hasn't the -- on the set -- hasn't the senate.

Proposed a budget or pass a budget it's the Democrats can agree on it it's a you know it's it's within our own caucus that they cannot reach agreement on these issues -- can't reach agreement on what to do about entitlements -- -- do about long term spending.

You know even from her red state Democrats what to do about taxes so.

-- haven't -- it is an issue but really isn't that what the president -- today.

It seems like the president should be the one that sort of bringing these people together strange position for -- President that won by as much as he did.

In his second term to have such short term thinking exactly figure out what kind of legacy do you want to leave you gotta start thinking about that now that is such as more point that's great analysis you would think you do both appreciated and didn't.

Thank you Tucker.
