Day two of the 2013.
C -- conference just wrapped up today in the list of speakers was a who's who in the conservative movement.
Because you probably weren't able to tune -- to all eleven plus hours of that event though some of you may have we did it for you take a look at the highlight.
It's up to us to make sure that we learned from our mistakes and my mistakes and that we take advantage of that learning to make sure that we take.
Back the nation take back the White House get the senate and put in place conservative principles.
Let's get this straight.
To protect our children at school we recommended trained professional with a guy.
And they say we are crazy.
In our budget.
-- very sharp contrast with the left.
It says to the people in unmistakable terms.
They are the party of shared hardship.
We are the party of equal opportunity.
-- -- run.
-- high there very foolish.
For very stupid.
What's going on in this country is unbelievable don't tell me Democrats -- the party -- future.
When their presidential ticket for 26 -- shaping up to look like a -- -- of the golden girls.
We must go out and win the next election so that we preserve for our children and our grandchildren all that makes is the greatest.
Country in the history of the world.
Joining me now with reaction to what she just saw it is a great doctor Charles Krauthammer Charles -- -- for joining us.
It's a pleasure with an introduction like that I'll -- -- and it's hard to help time -- -- so what does this tell us about the future of the conservative movement the Republican Party the outline for the 2014 mid terms.
-- some of what we saw today and yesterday.
It tells us that we Republicans and -- a Republican have a very strong bench to -- -- years it just wasn't ready.
In 2012 and we had a fairly weak field.
I thought it would by the way just rather a group of grace note.
To have the defeated presidential candidate Romney speak and treat him as well as he was I thought that was a lovely moment.
They had no so from a particular import for the future.
But when you saw yesterday.
-- -- Marco Rubio he's so Rand Paul you see Paul Ryan today.
And even a couple who are excluded Chris Christie Bob McDonnell.
The Virginia you know who for the time being.
-- slightly -- persona non grad but that will only be for a very short time.
This is a party where the future it's got a party with a very strong and I think the winning ideology and -- center right country.
And hey you know there's a lot of despair among conservatives and Republicans have somehow the other parties -- in the future.
The demographics are running against us I think that's simply not true I think they are -- party that is ideologically.
On the wrong side of the country they had a very strong candidate we had a relatively weak candidate.
And I think as long -- they they nurture these young leaders are coming up.
And pasted to their principles.
I think we have a very good chance.
What did you see that makings of any future dividing lines fault lines say there are people walking -- seat back it was a the last couple days wearing stand with the rain and it.
Stickers on on their blazers and I wonder if that suggests that you know have some sort of real competition between the Rand Paul wing of the party.
Going forward and say the Marco Rubio when you think that's real.
I think that trio but I'm.
You know I I think that wing has always been there but it was the wrong ball away and the problem with the wing is that Ron Paul.
For all of his sincerity was shall we say somewhat eccentric on some issues.
Rand Paul is polished.
He doesn't obsess about the gold standard and the Fed.
And he talks about things that appealed to really young it's rather interstate.
He is a libertarian and so on social issues he deviates -- wildly from where.
Republicans have been for the thirty years last thirty years since Reagan so that's.
I think it does -- to the but I don't know how -- place in the rest of the party.
But even more erratically.
He is a semi isolationist.
He talks about you know the millions of filibuster.
Was ostensibly about shooting missiles -- a kitchen -- a guide to -- but it was really about the whole war on terror abroad.
And how we ought to be -- and if we ought to be conducting.
And he speaks for a very -- significant wing of the party really of the country that is war weary.
And wants to withdraw that again is very much against the Reagan tradition.
And against the regime and a party so I think it does have appeal to -- And I think that's what you see it to see -- -- his disproportionately.
Young but I'm not sure how it plays so well there is a split and I think he will enlarge.
The libertarian part of a party.
I can't see it to be coming in anyway.
The majority of the party -- is it your sense that Republicans are energized by their apparent victory in the politics of the sequestering didn't fact they win that.
They did and the reason they're energized.
Is it took him out of the -- -- They've been losing everything including an election.
That they -- 12012.
And then they got crushed on the debt the unofficial oak cliff.
And on the sequestered they simply stood firm.
They did what -- But don't just do something stand there.
And did nothing and they want and Obama has seen we've seen his numbers far and it told people you know this is not what you think.
When you lose a general election -- hit.
-- a crush -- a tactical issue a few months later.
You do get a sense that we have no -- and I think the one tactical success will be sequestered and -- over shooting the obvious overshooting by.
The Obama administration has brought a lot of life back.
As has been gathering of these young people -- that cannot you know I think of despair there's a temporary phenomenon they started to do it dissipate.
Charles Krauthammer mile per -- ever met who speaks in perfect sentence is perfect dramatically for reform stuff it's it's unbelievable you're not reading that by the way I I just -- our viewers now.
Leon of course I'd -- -- golf notes written in code to prepare teleprompter.
Trust thank you very much sheer pleasure.
