-- during his -- -- speech yesterday former presidential candidate Mitt Romney urged the party to look at Republican governors for guidance going for periods.
I would urge us all to learn lessons that come from some of our greatest success stories.
And that's thirty Republican governors across the country -- McDonald Scott Walker John.
Basic Susanna Martinez Chris.
Joining us Dallas -- those republicans' success stories Romney referred to he is of course Wisconsin governor Scott Walker Governor Walker thanks a lot for joining us.
Great to be with the F do you do you agree with governor Romney in the future is in Republican governors in the states.
What is you know President Reagan is a first inaugural address it is important rumor that the federal government and -- states the states created the federal government that's where the report -- Becomes not just from Wisconsin but states all across America thankfully in America the majority of states are led by Republican governors and that's where reform comes from.
Now that I'm I'm wondering you you had a very well publicized -- kind of amazing in the -- successful battle against organized labor in your state.
Do you think we're gonna see that replicated in other states by other Republican governors they gonna take on this the same -- you did.
-- they can see bits and pieces of it certainly at the same time two years ago not just Jon Casey but Chris Christie people forget about it took on pension reform in New Jersey.
Even -- the Democrat legislature to go along with them there but in other states you see bill -- They get on education reform in Tennessee see Tom Corbett taken on reform in Pennsylvania -- C Susanna Martinez said.
Brian Sandoval and other governors -- they're packed with drivers -- to an education reform and Idaho.
You see bits and pieces of this unique to each state.
But it's the state leaders -- the governors are the ones willing to take that risk were the ones that are being optimistic we're the ones that are being relevant.
Most importantly where the ones being courageous and that's how we turn America around.
They -- an awful lot at C pac ten for Republicans in general about the debt the federal debt that trillions that we -- much of it to China and there's real fear on the right about this debt.
On the left listened to congressman John Conyers of Detroit.
Says it's not endangering us at all here it is.
The debt is not endangering us a bit.
No not -- all our economists say it.
We're we're in debt.
But it's not endangering everything is a matter fact.
There are economists who say it.
Some debt is is not a bad idea at all.
Who are these economists governor they mail order economists are they Russian economists and who would say something like that.
Well -- it's that -- just a party concept that's out of check I think it's one of those things where people Washington Ratajczak.
Nearly two years ago almost every state in America had deficits and most of us like Wisconsin we took a three point six billion dollar deficit.
In turn it into nearly half a billion dollar surplus why not just that we need to balance our budget because in the end.
It helped improve our economy.
We went from losing a 133000.
Jobs my predecessor gaining jobs states have got their fiscal track back and order.
Our states have -- their economic crisis turnaround as well so very quickly governor 49 states require balanced budgets Vermont -- -- anyway.
Should the federal government be held to that same standard.
Well absolutely and it's one of those -- it's not just about balancing the budget I think it a step further.
We need to balance the budget the federal level in a way that promotes growth and opportunity not just about taking more revenues in the doing in the way that actually puts more people to work.
And that that's what we're doing in the states as we did it was stats and that's what we have other great states are there across America it's about time the people Washington woke up.
And realize that's what needs to happen Paul -- one of the few brave souls is trying to make that happen but we need more voices like that our nation's capital.
Governor Scott Walker joining us from she -- -- doubtless -- being mobbed can't imagine how many bodyguards you need to walk through that conventional -- opportunities governor.
Good morning good to be with --
