A happening now a potential national security breach -- scientist at NASA's Langley research center in Virginia is now in federal custody.
After he was pulled off a plane.
That was bound for his native China.
In his possession say the -- a laptop and other computer data that may contain -- sensitive military secrets.
Word of this follows recent reports that the Chinese military is connecting cyber warfare spying on US companies from this building on the outskirts of Shanghai just some contacts we'll talk a little bit more about.
This particular story though deadly -- life in Washington so.
Doug what what can you tell us about this sound this contractor.
-- -- -- Davis vote -- he's a Chinese national who was working under contract at NASA's national institutes of aerospace.
On sensitive imaging technology.
He was first brought to the attention of authorities.
-- -- a whistle blower alerted congressman Frank Wolf to NASA's lax security procedures involving foreign nationals.
FBI and DHS agents arrested him on Saturday afternoon at Dulles airport.
After he had purchased a one way ticket to China and lied to authorities about electronics he was -- as he attempted to board the plane.
Congressman Frank Wolf said Jiang told -- Homeland Security agent that he had a cell -- a memory stick and an external hard drive and the new computer.
However during the search other media items were located the Jiang did not reveal such items include an additional -- and all the hard drive and a sim card.
Congressman -- wolf is concerned that there may be hundreds of other cases like this.
Our -- -- -- documents showing that other NASA contractors assembly employee and Chinese nationals this begs the question how many Chinese Nationalists currently work at NASA.
How many other foreign nationals from -- -- countries.

Jiang was on an earlier occasion allowed by NASA supervisors to take his work and other NASA research.

That brought this to the congressman and that attention so is is not doing anything now -- add to crack down on the sort of thing.
You know authorities -- the Langley research center where Zhang worked apparently moved quickly according to wolf to review security protocols but NASA is slower to do so when NASA officials learned of -- behavior one of them wrote in an internal email quoting now.
I think it would be in the government's best interest to be able to continue our work with him.
And the best use of taxpayers' money.
