Welcome back to on the -- on base of the tenth anniversary of the beginning all of the Iraq War that was a lot of criticism all of the media.

In the -- all of the invasion of Iraq and the subsequent chaos that was that that many in the media didn't mosque tough enough questions.

That subsequently being criticism that it was all the media coverage was all one sided.

And too critical of the reasons for going into Iraq in the first place.

And the the subsequent to mess that there wasn't some one point the surge.

Which -- he had to do some good.

What was the media -- speaking with one voice and was it an old too critical -- Justin dot com joins us with the biased bash for the day.

Justin of course one of off favorite -- told radio news service.

Good to see Justin -- what was certain sort of overarching theme.

Has there been over the past ten years in terms of Iraq.

There have been a number of teams but right now there are real world implications of the conversation that we're seeing.

On the ten year anniversary.

We know right now that there are humanitarian crisis is going on in Syria and there is a situation in Libya.

And there is a time when the US may need to exercise its might in order to achieve.

You know humanitarian and and I think a lot of the conversation that we've had about Iraq may -- poisoning the water.

But really I think one of the most dismaying things about what we're seeing on the ten year anniversary.

Is the lack of discussion that we are happy about the troops we know during the war there was quite.

A bit of discussion every time there isn't new landmark -- body counts -- -- sixty minutes do a I believe an hourlong special -- they just went off the names.

And you know unfortunately -- service members are still not with us there were 4475.

You know US service members who lost their lives and we -- not seeing them being discussed and I would like to think that during the Iraq War.

The attention that was paid to the war dead was out of a sense of you know patriotism and our nation's loss but.

Considering Yahoo!'s president of the time I think it may have just been political and I think that's the conversation that we really need to have again today.

Yeah I'd say it's an entry -- -- point you bring up and under one that ambassador Negroponte he was talking about just a few minutes ago.

On the showed that the that the entire experience and that the experience I guess may be shaped to some extent by the media coverage.

May have made Americans as a whole more reluctant to intervene.

Yeah that's certainly is a very big issue and we know that I'm only about 53% of Americans according to a new Gallup poll.

Believed that the war was a mistake and that's -- pretty slim majority and while I personally have my reservations with that.

-- I personally.

You know believe that the war was -- regards.

Nevertheless the media still -- a nuanced discussion.

Over what exactly happened and what was learned and what needs to be done in the future.

And you know simply on.

A you know war for humanitarian and -- botched really doesn't give a clear enough picture and their needs to be some more you know broad discussions about this it.

And as you -- very rightly say Justin and as we tried to do through Rick Lemond -- series here.

On this week at his work on this tenth anniversary.

Doing more than just remembering although all of those who served but thanking them from the very bottom of odds because what -- the politics of this.
