Talk more about borders security and the immigration debate Charlie hurt is a columnist for The Washington Times.
What do you think about that kind of -- Charlie I mean you know the Border Patrol is tasked with keeping it secure and now they're saying off.
We just don't have the money.
Now it's is it's really truly incredible John and -- and it's exactly why.
The vast majority of American people has act absolutely no -- whatsoever in this in the federal government.
As we have -- -- pointed out just a couple of weeks -- Janet Napolitano is saying that do border is as secure as it's ever been.
Then and this is very much part of all the negotiations about five figuring out what to do with the twelve million illegal aliens currently in the country.
You know when no one wants to move forward until we figure out that the that the border is in fact secure.
But of course that they're down they're playing games with this stuff and we know for a fact that that congress gave President Obama gave the administration the opportunity.
Two -- agree that there the way that the the sequestration cuts took effects of -- that it wouldn't hit vital.
Aspects such as securing the border.
But the administration.
-- that declined that threatened to veto it if they were given that opportunity.
Because what they really want is they want people to suffer and they want people to it took to field the cuts.
You talked about that -- and -- -- I wanna play for our viewers what she has said about guarding the border if it falls under the purview of her agency -- We have station -- Border Patrol agents.
Down at the border than ever before.
So the numbers have been driven forty year lows if you just look at things like.
We're confident that the border is as secure as it's ever been is this.
Another case Charlie -- of something like that -- department official whose email came out a few days after sequestration who essentially was.
Was caught saying look we've been promising the American people these sequester cuts are going to be painful so you don't do anything that would make them less painful and we've promise.
Absolutely if you read this the statement there was distributed by the Border Patrol in response to -- -- exclusive that's exactly what.
That the statement said the statement said basically that the that -- all these cuts had to be you know distributed around an equal fashion.
And you know we had no control over that's nonsense that is absolute nonsense.
That they have absolute there's a salute.
Priority in in Border Patrol to make sure that they secure the border it's not that they do all the administrative stuff for that they have.
All the other things that they spend money on the priority of the of the Border Patrol is to secure the border and they're clearly not doing that if they have a whole sections of the border that are just going to be unmanned now.
Because they don't want to do want to spend money on that it's clearly.
An attempt by the administration a political attempt by the administration to make sure.
That Americans feel the pinch of these questions because you -- because the government just refuses to find are reasonable things to cut but the Transportation Security Administration.
Also falls under Janet -- on those umbrella and we learned that they are telling Americans that you know we're gonna have to cut back on.
On passport control people we're gonna have to cut back on screeners at the airports you're going to be waiting in horrible long lines.
All but by the way we've just ordered fifty million dollars worth of new uniforms.
Staggering and then and then let's just take a look at you know when you do go through the line to get you know to get groped -- there at the airport.
-- you tell me of the of the 45 agents standing around.
You can't find a way.
To streamline that and make it a little bit more efficient.
And I don't know maybe make it so that -- not groping every single patient every single passenger that comes through there but pitcher you're doing it in a more targeted fashion.
You you need to tell me you can't figure out a way to streamline that and save some money on the on that and so that people aren't being forced to to -- Three hours or whatever it is to come into the country and the reason that they're doing it is because they want.
People to feel it because it because it did this administration.
Is so adamant that we cannot make any cuts whatsoever to the federal government.
Anywhere in its its devoted to -- sort of continuing this.
The bloating of the federal government spending is still going up this year worth noting against this sequestered talk.
Charlie -- from The Washington Times thank you.
