Navigation into a double murder and taxes possibly focusing now on a white supremacist group this after a district attorney and his wife.
Were killed inside their home this weekend the murders of Mike McClellan in his wife followed the killing of one of his assistant prosecutors just two months earlier.
Now -- Texas lawmaker says the Aryan Brotherhood.
May be behind it this weekend's killings and -- the other one earlier this year.
This is other reports suggested the white supremacist group is one of the primary focuses as well earlier today authorities in Texas are vowing to press on.
With the investigation.
-- got to move forward and and I hope and pray that are the people that are investigating this.
-- -- -- -- I don't know what you're doing everything it can't but hopefully.
Making these kind of scratch.
There you faltered quickly.
Let's bring in retired yeah special agent Jeff -- that suggested the Aryan Brotherhood keeps coming up in conversations and reports its -- source station that.
At least at this time but what do you know about this group and how do you feel potentially about this connection.
Well we do know that the Aryan Brotherhood was formed in the California state prison system decades ago.
And they're very large group -- particularly violent group the FBI has said that.
In the prison population they make -- a very small percentage of the population itself but.
May be responsible for a great deal of the homicides in the prison system.
They also of course have a big presence outside the prison system there are responsible for violent crimes in other types of activities.
What's happening here though is what we do know Janet is that the Texas authorities in December.
Released a bulletin that the Aryan Brotherhood was expressing.
The desire to retaliate.
Against officials in Texas law enforcement officials that were responsible for recent prosecutions in Houston Houston area of that group so that's what's tying this particular group to this investigation.
At least what we know right now.
And what sort of scenario would -- bulletin like that.
Be released and and for some and it's worked him on Britain as you have Jeff when you see that bulletin how much how much credence do you -- it.
Well the bulletin net which is now been -- it is out there and and in the public domain.
Uses the word credible information and you distinguish between what might be rumors and innuendo and -- be credible and in May be credible information in this case.
They use the terms credible information so.
That means there was some indication some source of information.
That this was going to happen and now with the FBI and other agencies that are working on this case we'll have to do.
Used to go back to that original source or sources of information to try to figure out.
Exactly -- what happened that would be the next step in the investigation.
We talked about white supremacist groups briefly just a couple of weeks ago when there was a murder -- prison chief in Colorado and the suspect in this case that was later killed by police.
-- linked to a white supremacist group inside a prison and he was chased to Texas from Colorado essentially.
We're seeing a picture of the suspect he's now dead.
On the screen.
And there's been some questions raised about what the possible connection could be between the murder in Colorado.
And this in Texas how would you go about even investigating Najaf.
Well again goes back to that original source although there's been some information out about those two events.
For another three events may not be connected at least -- two in Texas connected to the one.
In Colorado but again it's there still could be that nexus and authorities are gonna have to look at the underlying source of that credible information to determine.
What happened and what's -- what's what's going to be happening going forward -- have to remember that.
He's organized groups generally in the past and not strike out at prosecutors to not struck out of law enforcement because they know that's gonna just solidify.
And intensify the efforts of -- against those groups.
And you're saying Mary Allen out O'Toole was with that she said FBI profiler as intriguing a Japanese and she was talking a little bit about the profile of Salmonella commit this crime.
Saying it's very personal to go to -- house very brazen and not only kill them but off so their wife.
How would you go about keeping other law enforcement.
Officials in the area -- safe now what what what he was -- -- doing that.
-- that's a great question and prosecutors have always been aware of the threats.
That that are are out there based on the job that they do they serve a public and the public sector and -- -- -- very high profile position.
And there always exposed to these type of threats and most of them have taken steps over the years to protect themselves to keep their you know addresses private as possible you can't do that in today's age completely.
But they have to they have to at least try to maintain -- lower profile was possible but no.
That these threats are out there -- can always surface at times look like we're seeing right now in Texas and Colorado.
That's right well Jeff it's great to have you thank you for your expertise and in this particular case there is look for having -- back and I discuss others is rob thank you so much.
-- you're welcome.
