Higher capacity magazines and why not try to have the most stringent background checks that you can't.
Well I think some of those polls have been very deceiving in all honesty in the way they were worded people didn't know what these laws actually did.
And more current things are really showing as people discover what's in these laws.
They're really taking a turn around the corner and realizing this is -- legislation.
In what way -- an example.
Well -- -- to be an example and in Colorado we -- serious wildfires last summer.
And a lot of my residents are lost 300 homes residents had the -- under the new law that was signed by governor Hickenlooper.
If they if they take firearms with them and Lieberman a friend's house.
They've committed misdemeanor offense they and -- friends should both be arrested and the new state law at its pieces but that did just don't make sense to.
To normal Americans.
You know I think what everybody wants to do and I think this is what is is getting lost in some of this discussion is to prevent.
Something like what happened at new attack from happening again Virginia attack even in your home state of column -- -- you know reading about -- this morning.
They used those two young men capacities to -- ten.
I am Allen has magazines which which would be admissible under your state -- -- and also handguns were used in Biden in both situations at Virginia Tech and also column by.
Absolutely -- that's part of the problem is these bills don't address would be bill sponsors kept outing they talked about underground capacity magazines.
It doesn't do anything for those that are out -- are.
And -- reality is it's not the magazine capacity really is -- part of me and we have criminals out there we -- control crime control we don't need gun control hasn't worked in other areas.
And it really just falls on law abiding citizens that it -- it keeps them -- protect.
You know what I do we all live in fear of you know waking up another morning and starting to see that kind of headlines that we saw that morning at a new town that we're just.
Unbelievable unfathomable so how do you you you don't ever want families parents to go through the excruciating pain that we've seen those families going through.
And people look at what you guys are doing and say well why would they -- -- do that you know if these measures do anything at all to save one life why stand in the way of that what would you tell them.
Well there's a couple of important pieces -- -- one is unsure -- across the board agreed that -- simply won't do anything to change that.
These are our feel good legislation that it will not change.
Do you what do you recommend what should we be dealing.
You know that things were looking at one of them is sure sort of take take take guns out of the opinions of balance of dangerous people.
Our our state refuses to create -- database for sure some police officers.
-- know -- prohibited from having -- -- we may run across some on a daily basis and we don't have a way of doing that we'd rather deal with them to criminals.
Been the law abiding citizens through new onerous regulations.
In my mind did the mental health piece of this is huge in -- think of James Holmes.
And the psychiatrist and you know the notes and and what we're now learning from his psychiatrist -- Who's believed that he was homicidal before this happened and tried to bring -- at least to some people's attention.
What can be done about that not not one bill that I know -- addresses that specifically.
You're right marketers reform measures and and some of them -- right I do believer in the works I haven't had a lot of contact from legislators -- -- But -- attempting to make sure.
That when mental health professionals believe that there's a danger but they have the avenue to contact law enforcement and they actually would be required to do that.
And then to make sure that law enforcement officials take that seriously and protect the public protect their community they do.
The vast majority of the time but we need to make that even better.
Yeah I mean there's got to be some kind of surveillance.
People that they think are -- potential problem some kind of home visit like you get in so many parental situations in families around this country.
To try to keep tabs on these people and see if there's any way to stop them before they pull something like this off.
