Well at least two people are dead many others.
Injured some seriously it could be up to 100.
Injured let's talk to former Massachusetts senator Republican Scott Brown he joins us tonight.
-- -- first your thoughts on on this day and well just an overall thought.
Well first of all -- know the race director -- know a lot of runners obviously know the law enforcement.
I was shocked initially but now I'm mad it's cowardly.
For the the perpetrators or perpetrators -- have.
Facilitated this type of terrorism something that is you know it is -- -- the Red Sox are playing the -- was happening you had a a target -- environment.
And I know -- commissioner Davis and know that they responded.
As quickly as they could and now we have to obviously pick up the pieces that I get the evidence and track down whoever did this.
End up hold them accountable.
You know your wife worked for a local TV station there in Boston WC BD and you know you hear the accounts of of the photographers there on the scene and see the video area.
It is a wrist problem.
You know ever know every one of the photographers there and -- I know right where that with a store was that it was actually blown out and have been on that road.
Hundreds and hundreds of times.
To think it could happen in a day like today.
It's it's not me.
But I can tell you what we are Americans first and I appreciate the president.
Reaching out to Governor Patrick and Mayor Menino certainly.
You know getting all the forces in place to.
To help us find out.
What happened and listen all we can ask for is is your prayers for the city of Boston and for those people have been fallen and injured.
I can't even imagine.
Having a loved one whether they be -- citizen watching our runner.
And being their standing in socializing and having one of their legs blown off -- dying.
And and here we are -- new world and I'll -- -- what it's cowardly and that we need to fight back and stand strong as Americans first.
What have you talked to people there anybody about you know what what they're thinking as far as the investigation than anybody.
I know it's early and and they're not really.
Trying to say too much about it.
Well certainly they are keeping everything I've heard reports like you have of other devices that have been found.
There dismantling them there -- but obviously gathering evidence I have spoken to a a couple of state trooper friends are on the scene as well as the President -- and City Council was on the scene.
So doing my due diligence but bottom line it is early in the key right now -- to make -- the victims are.
Are safe and secure -- that we secure the evidence because it is a crime scene.
And make sure we can find -- a -- signature.
-- it for this type of device or devices and obviously go after whoever did it.
A local station there is reporting that channel seven an eight year old.
Is among the dead.
In the Boston Marathon terror attack.
Senator what what do you say to folks who who.
Look at today and and just and don't know really what to think after.
They feel vulnerable.
Well that that's what terrorism is about -- they want us to be fearful they want us to change the way we do business.
The -- -- obviously the markets affects the way we travel the way we live.
And what I say is we live in the greatest country in the world and that's why people want to attack us so we have to stand strong rip the band together as Americans refer first.
The north south east west rich -- Democrats Republican I gotta show them that we are resilient.
And that we will come through in this regard and be stronger for -- The New York Post has been doing some great reporting on on the early stages -- this this investigation.
And you know there's some.
Interest stand back and forth about whether persons of interest.
Are being guarded.
If if you hear more about what what do you think about what the president said in his speech.
Let's and the president I -- acted thoughtfully.
And judiciously as you should be is not in Boston he's in DC's getting briefed.
By many many different sources and I think he obviously to have him -- there was reassuring to -- to the public.
Certainly and I know that he is actively engaged because that's how he is and he would be immediately receptive Governor Patrick -- -- And our law enforcement police fire EMTs.
Is a response to tragic response teams are already in place and working the National Guard everybody is on scene so.
They noticed the fact that he she obviously called the the local authorities in elected officials as a good thing.
