-- -- -- -- -- -- Oh my guys.
A terror attack in Boston on patriots day at the Boston Marathon finish line.
At least two dead including an eight year old boy according to the Boston Globe more than 100 injured many severely including at least eight children.
I'm Bill O'Reilly this is a special edition of the -- here are the facts the cowardly attack happened just before three this afternoon.
A bomb exploded on Boston street on the marathon route.
In the back -- section of Boston a few seconds later a second bomb exploded about a hundred yards away from the first.
There are reports that authorities disarmed two other improvised explosive devices or -- The kind that I used in Afghanistan.
That report from the Associated Press.
Also there are reports that police are investigating a man who was hurt in the explosion.
-- no more than that at this juncture.
Except that he is in the hospital.
President Obama has addressed the nation and promised justice but he made one mistake the president -- the attack a tragedy.
It was knocked.
It was a -- act of violence designed to kill innocent people including children.
I was just in Boston yesterday and this makes me sick.
So far no one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Perhaps it's a coincidence but this week marks the anniversary of attacks in Oklahoma City column by Colorado and Virginia Tech.
Also the Waco assault in 1993.
Joining us now from Washington congressman Peter King a member of the house homeland security committee so congressman what can you tell us tonight.
Well as you said bill is actually terrific is detestable and has only amounts have been terrorist attack.
In fact the other -- the way was carried out and to me there's no doubt in my mind that this is a terrorist attack.
I know there is a person of interest -- for calling him now but to me this this reminds me very much of the attack in Times Square.
And 2010 -- that Shahzad.
And also we have to remember that inspire which is -- magazine of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
As called for attacks on athletic events of the United States on iconic events and this is -- -- -- marathon on patriots day is the almost the ultimate as far as an iconic athletic all American event.
And also -- mass killing of civilians.
Again IA we don't know for certain.
But to me I think we have -- -- -- sort it al-Qaeda or nor should -- Qaeda or a -- -- daughter here in the United States a homegrown terrorists.
Well I mean I think the FBI fairly soon will ascertain exactly what the profile lists in fact -- a press conference coming up around 830.
We'll go to that immediately and the FBI and the Boston authorities in a combined press conference.
But at this point we don't want to speculate.
But we do know that -- is designed to kill and maim and Maine see this is a very disturbing part.
Reports are there was shrapnel.
And ball bearings and things like that other eyewitness reports of limbs being blown off.
In an horrific way.
So this wasn't designed did you do anything other than create chaos -- ammonium as 9/11 was it's the same am all.
Now as you said both domestic and foreign terrorists uses kind of stuff.
When something like this happens you being on the homeland security committee.
Did you guys do any thing in congress I mean do you do you get on the phone with the FBI -- and or with your fellow members of the committee I was out.
Well -- of myself I've been on the phone all afternoon.
With police and fire officials with sources I have in the federal government.
I'm on the intelligence committee also will be getting a briefing on this tomorrow.
But now this has we have full court press I don't I don't listen to wake up call to members of congress would drive people away in the -- -- in particular.
Talk about reducing aid for instance the new York city police department this kind of terrorism efforts so -- the feeling is just because we hadn't been successfully attacked.
In eleven years that we -- nothing to worry about well if anything good.
Can come out of a such a horrible event to say.
Maybe we awake -- -- we have enemies are out to destroy us they never let up and in many ways they're more treacherous there or before September 11.
Those limits has decides they've walked and then all of and -- -- under the radar screen that's why we have to be so aggressive we have to be on top of this.
But once somebody arrives at an event with the explosive device it's very difficult to stop them you have all of security you know it's essential.
But the real way to stop it is by intelligence beforehand and by going out into communities and finding out what's gonna happen yet.
Warm -- us informers here's something -- -- that's out remind people what happened in Times Square.
When the guy from Connecticut drove down with a car and was gone up market and below old Times Square -- just remind people.
What the modus operandi was and how the authorities stopped it.
There was he actually put together -- device had been trained in Pakistan -- come over here he drove down from Connecticut crash on Saturday night in May.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- But the reason for that was this guy knew what he was doing but he also know that if there's certain devices -- purchase especially in New York.
That the NYPD monitors that they know the types of explosives and other types of fuses and other types of fireworks they know.
What could wind sort homemade bomb.
And because of that he purchase everything just below the -- level that had to be reported.
And in doing that he ended up putting together a -- -- that did work ironically enough I was mile high ranking FBI official -- -- in New York before this happened.
And he was saying that one of the most unfortunate.
Lessons that people got from the 2010 attack.
If you go to the bomb didn't kill anyone people -- -- -- Qaeda threat was gone that bomb came within inches of mass destruction today.
Imports and unfortunately this -- so why I've heard everything to -- five bombs out there are explosive devices they were that at least two of them went off.
And it's absolute devastation I just think an eight year old boy.
An eight year old child.
Being killed at an ultimate.
All American events I mean the cradle of liberty foreseen the marathon.
Patriots today want to be better than bring an eight year old child to that and -- A young man or young girl killed an event like that the shows are horrible and -- -- These people I know there's no doubt about it -- and then I don't wanna be quibbling you know with the commander in chief because.
The president did his job today and I news I trust that he will get to the bottom of it in order all the resorts and do it but it's not a tragedy.
I mean these are these are well thought out military campaigns directed against civilians.
Read what the Nazis did all right this is that that.
And people do have to be aware now we we understand at the the eight year old was a girl.
Little girl has killed well.
And there's eight other children that go to Boston Globe reporting that they are injured.
And a lot of these injuries are horrific I mean.
You've been to the theater of war in Afghanistan and Iraq -- supply.
And and you know the wounded warrior situation when these things go off there's sole.
And and it just makes me really angry this whole thing makes me really angry that these people.
In a free society we you know we can't stop -- we've been fortunate to stop it for twelve years.
But now they -- -- got through when this is what happens.
And requires an all out intensive effort bill and that's why we cannot be.
Cutting back from police we can't be stopping the police what you were trying to do -- New York from being aggressive.
There are non aggressive that no one ever lost as brisk today you know they don't want is they don't want that.
And you're absolutely right now maybe this will recede.
As it did in the in the first attack on an eleven that did -- -- a you know a lot.
Safety first protection first now this crazy madness -- seat back final question.
When the F when you talk to the FB AC gonna get briefed tomorrow.
Who's who's going to do that briefing congressman who's gonna tell you and will they tell you.
It's an active investigation they don't like to put a lot of stuff out in the media.
Because they want to chase down a whole bunch of people they catch one they want to know their friends are but we you get a pretty good idea tomorrow what happened.
The -- that we have to we have to push sort of we don't get it affront.
We have to push short I think we will.
And view of this I mean you're the factors right here in the homeland what time meeting what time -- your briefing -- -- this late morning Charlie you've got.
Are you -- tomorrow night on here on this program.
There are so -- -- -- -- the book the congressman now for tomorrow Chris tells about the briefing because.
Look I mean -- we we really need act quickly here in India and get as much information people responsible congress we can't thank you enough.
Taken -- -- -- in a very terrible situation.
